Bard
Base Class: Bard

The college of the playwright is centered around the weaving of magic into words, specifically the written word. While a student of the college of the playwright can be a performer of many disciplines their strength lies in the process of looking at not only adventuring, but life as though it were a play. By bending the mind to see life this way, the bard can weave magic in a way that transcends reality and instead tells a better story, one that the bard dictates.

Well Read

When you join the College of the Playwright at 3rd level, You gain proficiency with Insight, and Performance and learn 3 languages of your choice.

Borne of Ink and Quill

When writing information on paper or parchment, you can infuse your bardic magic into the script you write. After you expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration and roll the dice, choose one of the following conditions; Charmed, Frightened, or Stunned. The next creature to read your script suffers the chosen condition for a number of rounds equal to the value of your bardic inspiration roll. This magic fades away after a creature suffers the condition or after a number of days equal to half your bard level rounded up.

Additionally, whenever you make a performance check supplemented by something you've written as a bard, whether it be limericks, music, poetry or play, you do so at advantage.

Rewrite the Scene

At 6th level, you gain the ability to examine the flow of an encounter and use your bardic magic to rewrite unwelcome outcomes. As a reaction, when an enemy creature makes a critical attack against an ally, or when an ally rolls a critical failure on an attack against an enemy creature and they are within 60 feet of you, you can expend one use of your bardic inspiration to instead treat the roll as if it were a 10.

You may use this feature a number of times equal to half your bard level rounded up, per long rest.

Close the Curtain

Starting at 14th level, Your skill in writing great dramatic tragedy is so great that you can bend reality to better suit your vision. As a reaction, when an allied creature within 60 feet of you is reduced to 0 hp, you can designate an enemy creature of a CR equal to half that ally's level or lower to fall to 0 hp as well, making the creature enter the death saving throw phase of unconsciousness. If the creature you target does not meet the CR restrictions, it has no effect.

You can use this feature once per long rest.
