Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

As a ranger, you've explored the region and have become known to the local wildlife, with some even seeing you as a friend. You are assisted by the wildlife and one common ally found in the wilderness.

Summon Bestial Ally

At 3rd level, you undergo a complex trial that calls for the beast tamer to meditate in a biome of their choosing to call forth a beast of a challenge rating equal to their level that exists in the biome. In order to subdue this mighty beast, the tamer must fight this beast alone and reduce it to half its health. At this time, the tamer must overpower the beast with a conflicting roll, animal handling vs the creature's charisma saving throw. If the tamer succeeds the roll, the beast submits to their will and obeys them as long as the tamer doesn't damage it purposely.

As long as you have this beast in your possession, it levels with you, gaining additional hit dice as you do and gaining hit points accordingly. This beast serves as your main companion is the only beast you can not only order but also use to cast spells through, as the spirit of the forest binds your souls together in this bonding ritual, also unlocking your magical potential. Obtaining the beast grants the tamer the following abilities:

  • As a bonus action, you can sacrifice a spell slot to heal your beast a number of d8's equal to the spell's level.
  • If your beast is within melee of an enemy creature, and posses pact tactics, you gain the benefit of that feature from any range as well as your beast.
  • You and your beast share a telepathic link that conveys simple emotions up to 120 ft, allowing you to command it as a free action without any verbal requirements.
  • If you are at half health, the beast will disobey any command you give it as it falls back to protect you, using its reaction to cause any attack directed at you to target itself.

Call of The Wild

At 7th level, you gain the ability to slowly become one with nature and its inhabitants. The beasts of the forest heed your call and offer their services to you as they hear your legend through the divine veins that keep the natural world flourishing with life. Apart from your bestial ally, the beast tamer may possess a number of beasts equal to the tamer's wisdom score of a CR that is half the ranger's current level. Unlike the bestial ally, this beast is only loyal for 24 hours and doesn't require meditation. The tamer just needs to make an animal handling check vs the creature's charisma saving throw.

Your bestial ally also gains the ability to cut through magical resistance, as well as your new legion.

Multiattack

At 11th level, you and your ally gain an additional attack.

Superior Beast Master

At 15th level, you gain more benefits to commanding your beast.

On obtaining the 15th level in this class, you feel the magical essence of nature flow into you and your companion. You and your companion gains the following benefits:

  • Choose one type of elemental damage that shall now add an additional 2d6 damage die of that damage type to your attacks, both magical and weapon based.
  • As an reaction if your beast uses an opportunity attack to attack an enemy, you may fire a ranged weapon attack at the creature.
  • Your connection to your beast extends to 300 ft and allows you to shift you mind into your bestial ally, allowing shared vision and control.
  • You may now have a number of bestial allies equal to half your wisdom modifier.
  • As a reaction, if your beast dies on the same plane as you, you may sacrifice half your current hp to resurrect that creature in 1d4 hours with a level of exhaustion.
  • As long as you are on the same plane as your ally, you may summon it to your location as an action, regardless of range.
