Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Your patron is a powerful serpentine entity, such as a Naga, Marilith, or the Yuan-Ti deity, Sseth. These immortal snakes are often bound to temples or remote jungles, but they often use mortals to accomplish their complex agendas.

A pact with one of these serpents, however, is a calculated risk: such beings are ambitious and cold-blooded, but reward loyalty.

Expanded Spell List

Your patron lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell, as shown in the Serpent Spells table. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Serpent Spells

Spell Level Spells
1st Detect Evil and Good, Command
2nd Acid Arrow, Detect Thoughts
3rd Nondetection, Conjure Animals (Snakes only)
4th Divination, Stoneskin (appears as scales)
5th Dominate Person, Cloudkill

Gift of the Scaled Ones

At 1st level, your patron grants you a modicum of power over your poisonous kin.

You can communicate with snakes as if you shared a language. You also gain resistance to poison damage, and advantage on saving throws against being Poisoned.

Form of The Serpent

Also at 1st level, your affinity with those with scales has allowed you to join them, if only for a time.

You can use a bonus action to transform into a Poisonous Snake (as if by the Polymorph spell). When you reach 6th level in this class, you can also transform into a Constrictor Snake, and when you reach 10th level, you can transform into a Giant Constrictor Snake.

Your transformation lasts for a number of hours equal to your proficiency bonus - it ends early if you drop to 0 hit points, die, fall Unconscious, or choose to end it as a bonus action.

Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Snake Charmer

At 6th level, you can instinctively hypnotize those who threaten you.

When a creature you can see within 30 ft. of you targets you with an attack roll, you can use your reaction to force it to make a Wisdom saving throw against your Spell Save DC. On a failure, the target is Charmed by you until the end of your next turn, or until it takes damage. While charmed in this way, the target is Incapacitated.

Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Potent Venom

At 10th level, the modicum of power your patron has bestowed upon you has been bolstered.

You gain immunity to poison damage and being Poisoned.

Moreover, your spells, attacks, and cantrips ignore resistance to poison damage, and you treat immunity to poison damage as resistance, only.

Shed Skin

At 14th level, your patron helps you escape the mortal coil.

When you drop to 0 hit points, you can choose to drop to 1 hit points, instead. When you do, you immediately gain the benefits of your Form of the Serpent feature, without expending its use.

You can do this once before you must finish a long rest.
