Base Class: Fighter

The mastery of the blade expands beyond the means of physical prowess. An Awakened Blade's spirit is as strong as their steal, and this is manifested in their magic.

Awakened Mind

Your awakened mind grants you the following benefits:

  • You gain half proficiency on all ability checks that use your INT modifier.
  • You can add your wisdom modifier to saving throws against being charmed.

Blade Forms

Your awakening allows you to perform incredible feats through your blade. You can choose to use one blade form as part of your action, unless otherwise specified.

Blade Form: Blood

When you use a cantrip to make a melee spell attack, you can use this blade form. The creature suffers the affects of the attack as normal, and you can roll and expend up to 10 of your own hit die to add that much radiant or necrotic damage (your choice) to the attack. If you do not have enough hit die left, you can instead roll the number of die you wish to use and take that damage as pure damage.

Blade Form: Cloud

When you use a cantrip on your turn you can use this form. When using this form, you may use your bonus action to triple your jump height until the end of your next turn.

Blade Form: Earth

You channel strength from the earth through your body to your blade. When you attack an enemy with a melee cantrip, you can move any creature hit by the attack 5 feet in any direction.

Blade Form: Fire

Awaken the flame in your soul to strike powerfully. When you attack with a melee cantrip, you can use this form to take a -5 to hit and double all of the damage you do with the attack.

Blade Form: Ice

When you attack with a melee cantrip, any creature you hit with the attack has its move speed halved until the start of your next turn.

Blade Form: Leaf

When you make a melee attack with a cantrip on your turn, if the attack hits, your fall speed becomes 60 feet and you do not suffer the affects of fall damage for the rest of your turn. Additionally, any creature hit by the cantrip suffers the normal affect of the attack and must make a strength saving throw or be knocked prone. The save for this is 8 + WIS Modifier + (1 per 10 feet you fell before making the attack)

Blade Form: Lightning

You move with the speed of the storm. On your turn when you cast a cantrip, you can use this form to use a bonus action to double your move speed until the end of your next turn.

Blade Form: Mist

For a brief moment, you fade into mist. When you attack an opponent with a cantrip on your turn, as a bonus action you can move through occupied spaces and you don’t trigger opportunity attacks for the rest of your turn. If you end your movement in the same space as another creature, you move to the nearest unoccupied space and fall prone.

Blade Form: Moon

Once per day you can use this blade form on your turn. As an action you can summon the power within you to cause everyone within 100 feet of yourself (including yourself) to become vulnerable to damage types other than piecing, slashing and bludgeoning until the start of your next turn.

Blade Form: Shadow

As a bonus action on your turn when you cast a melee cantrip, you can use this form to teleport up to your move speed to an unoccupied space you can see within 5 feet of the target of the attack. You can add your WIS modifier to the attack and damage rolls of this attack.

Blade Form: Sky

As a bonus action on your turn, you gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed for one minute. Once you use this form you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.

Blade Form: Soul

When you attack with a melee cantrip, you can use this blade form. When you use this blade form, select one creature hit by the attack. You and this creature make a contested WIS check. If the target wins, you both take 20d6 psychic damage. If the target fails, they drop to 0 hit points and you suffer one level of exhaustion. This blade form cannot be used again until you finish a long rest.

Blade Form: Spirit

When you make an attack with a melee cantrip you can use this blade form. Any enemy hit by this attack must make a WIS saving throw against your WIS score, and if they fail they suffer the normal affects of the attack and take an additional 3d10 psychic damage.

Blade Form: Sun

Once per day, you can call upon the energy within your awakened soul to unleash a devastating attack. You can cast the spell Fire Storm as an action.

Blade Form: Thunder

When you use a cantrip to make a melee attack after moving at least 30 feet on your turn, you can use this blade form. Any creature hit by the attack suffers the normal affects of the attack and must make a strength saving throw or be knocked back 15 feet away from you. The save for this is equal to
8 + WIS modifier + {1 per 15 feet you moved toward the creature this turn before the attack}

Blade Form: Water

You crash like a wave and flow like a stream. On your turn when you make a melee attack with a cantrip, you can use a bonus action to cause each enemy hit by the attack to have disadvantage on attack rolls against you until the start of your next turn.

Blade Form: Wind

From a warm breeze to a shredding storm in an instant. When casting a cantrip on your turn, you can use this form to attack up to 5 creatures within a distance equal to your movement speed in feet of you with the cantrip. After this attack, you can appear anywhere up to your movement speed away from your starting position.

Awakened Heart

Through training you have learned to awaken the power within your heart. You gain the following benefits assuming you are not wearing heavy armor.

  • You gain a bonus to your AC equal to your WIS modifier.
  • You cannot be feared.

Awakened Soul

Through your training you have awakened your soul. You gain the following benefits.

  • You can add your wisdom modifier to damage rolls made when using blade forms.
  • You have advantage on saving throws against being banished to another plane of existence.

Master of Forms

You can use two blade forms as part your action as long as the requirements of both are met, you cannot use multiple blade forms on the same turn that require a bonus action.

Awakened Breath

Your mastery of the blade diverges from that of your fellow martial specialists and you gain the following provided you are not wearing heavy armor:

  • Your base movement speed increases by 5 feet.
  • You learn the "Booming Blade" and "Green Flame Blade" cantrips.
  • You can add your wisdom modifier when determining initiative.
