Artificer
Base Class: Artificer

Covert operatives come in all shapes and sizes, as well as allegiances. Covert operatives may work as spies and enforcers for the mega-corps of Sângerat, freedom fighters who follow the philosophy of Anarchosa, secret police officers of Barianto, or even freelance mercenaries for hire. Covert operatives use their abilities to infiltrate an area and leave before anyone even notices they were there.

Tools of the Trade

You gain proficiency with crossbow, hand, rapier, shortsword and weaver’s tools. If you already have this tool proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan’s tools of your choice.

Preferring to stay light on your feet, you can choose to forgo armor for a magical set of clothing. When you finish a short or long rest, you can either turn an existing set of non-magical clothing into Arcano-Weave, provided you have weaver’s tools in hand.

You gain the following benefits while wearing this set of clothing.

  • While you are wearing no armor and not wielding a shield, your AC equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Intelligence modifier.
  • You can use the Arcano-Weave as a spellcasting focus for your artificer spells.
  • The clothing can't be removed against your will.
  • Your speed increases by 5 feet while you are not wearing medium or heavy armor or wielding a shield.
  • Whenever you cast a spell while wearing your arcano-weave with a range of self or touch, it doesn't require verbal components.

Concealed Weapon

3rd-level Covert Operative feature

You have fitted your Arcano-Weave with small extradimensional spaces for the purpose of concealing your weaponry.  Your Arcano-Weave gains the following properties:

  • You create up to two extra-dimensional pockets on your Arcano-Weave. (You choose where they are located)
  • These pockets can each hold up to one weapon you are proficient with that has the finesse or light property, and they cannot store any other items.
  • Weapons stored this way can be summoned with a bonus action. If you have stored two weapons this way, they can be summoned with the same bonus action
  • When you finish a short or long rest, you may choose a damage type: acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, or thunder. The weapon(s) stored this way become your concealed weapon(s) and deal the chosen damage type until your next short or long rest.

War Magic

When you use your action to cast a cantrip, you can make one weapon attack as a bonus action.

Physical Augmentation

  • Your carrying capacity is doubled while you are wearing your Arcano-Weave.
  • You may use your Intelligence modifier, instead of Dexterity modifier when you make a Stealth or Sleight of Hand check.

  • You gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed.
