Base Class: Artificer
An artificer who has delved into deeper arcane understandings in order to construct a hex-mechanical item that transcends mere enchanting and the potency of normal wonderous items. These artificers have learned from a more divine source or patron on how to construct an arcane trinket that can be worn in the shape of a gauntlet or glove. The designs can vary but all carry he potential of being a great key and weapon for the artificer, as well as having incredible room to be added onto.
Tools of the Trade
The user gains proficiency in Alchemy tools and one more artisans tools.
The user also gains 3 cantrips from the Wizard, Sorcerer, Druid, Paladin, or Bard spell list.
Arcane Key
At 3rd level you've tinkered with ideas that aren't truly your own and have created something extraordinary. You gain a arcane glove that has 3 slots on the back of the hand and are in a triangle position. With this glove you have also gained a bag with ten stones. Each stone fits into one of the slots on the glove. The stones are listed as followed
Ruby - Fire
Lapis Lazuli - Cold
Citrine - Lightning
Jade - Poison
Peridot - Acid
Amethyst - Force
Crystal - Radiant
Sapphire - Thunder
Topaz - Necrotic
Emerald - Psychic
The stones take one minute replace all 3 stones.
As an action the user can cast an arcane bolt using one of the 3 gem stones in the glove. The bolt does 1d8 damage of that gemstones type and counts as a ranged spell attack.
at level 5, you bolts casted increases to two ( the bolts can be two separate gems in the glove)
At level 9, the user has crafted the key to be able to fit 2 more gems at once and the damage increases to 1d12
Arcane Shield
Through clever tinkering, the user can overload a gem and create a barrier that shields the user. The barrier lasts 2 minutes and grants the following benefits.
- The users AC is increased by + 2
- The user gains resistance to one damage type based off one of the gems in the gauntlet,
Arcane Shift
The Arcane Key has grown even more in power and in size, covering the whole arm and allowing the user to be able to tap deeper into the arcane.
At level 9 the following benefits are granted.
- The user can cast blink as a bonus action 3 times per long rest
- The user can cast dimension door 1 time(s) per long rest
- And Arcane Gate 1 time(s) per long rest.
- Your arcane shield now grants plus + 3
Final Form
The Arcane Key has officially become the final product of a genius mind that allows the user to tap into the raw magic that forms the very world around them, and the raw magic that inhabits creatures and beings, making them vulnerable to your gloves power.
The Following Benefits are granted.
- The user can spend an action to steal one attribute of a creature, whether it be damage resistance, condition immunity, language known, senses, or if the creature has unnatural flight. Damage immunities are not available to be stolen off a creature. And any effect can only be stolen for a total of 5 minutes.
- The user can steal one spell or spell slot off a creature. If the spell is level 6 or higher, it is casted at its normal spell level
- Any level 5 spell or lower is now casted at a spell slot 2 levels higher then its original level.
- Your Arcane Shield now grants a + 4 to AC
