Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

The Goldpact Knights are an order of mercenary paladins who sell themselves for all sorts of defensive and offensive engagements. They emerged out of the dwarven empire a few hundred years ago and managed to survive the destruction of the dwarven nation that created them. Goldpact Knights are not especially brutal and are willing to shift direction based on the desires of their employers. As their name suggests, the Goldpact Knights believe payment forms a binding contract. They are known for being non-judgmental, professional, and impressively mirthful.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed in the Goldpact Spells table. See the Sacred Oath class feature for how oath spells work.

Goldpact Spells

Channel Divinity

You gain two Channel Divinity options:

Intimidating Presence - As a bonus action, you grant yourself a +5 bonus to Intimidation checks for the next 10 minutes.

Know thy Place - Immediately after an attacker within 30 ft. deals damage with an attack against you, you may use your reaction to force the attacker to make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the attacker takes radiant damage equal to the damage it just dealt and is forced prone. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage and is not forced prone. You may choose to spend 150 gold to forgo the saving throw instead.

Aura of Gold

Starting at 7th level, bright light sheds from your armor out to 15 feet, and dim light out to 30 feet. In addition, if you fall unconscious and have enough gold on your person, you can choose to spend 10 gold and gain 1d10 hit points instead. Once you use this ability, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

Golden Spirit

Starting at 15th level, a holy presence helps you in your deal-making. You gain proficiency in Persuasion checks, and any reward that deals in gold will magically double the reward received coming into your possession.

Golden Blade

At 20th level, your weapons turn solid gold upon holding them. They grant the following benefits:

  • Any time you strike a enemy, you gain gold currency every time you strike a creature equal to the amount of damage dealt. If you deal the killing blow, you gain gold equal to half the experience the creature provides.
  • Your weapon deals an additional 1d6 radiant damage with every strike.
  • Your weapon cuts through all immunities a creature may have.
  • You may spend 1000 gold to grant your weapon a critical hit. This must be done before you roll to hit. You may not use this feature again until the next dawn.
