Base Class: Bard
The College of Grace are a group of bards who still believe actions can speak louder than words. Known for majestic physical displays of dancing and acrobatics, these bards turn their bodies into a conduit for their spell casting. This combined with the ability to use flourishing movements when in danger has led to them sometimes being known as War Dancers, able to inspire their comrades as they twist and twirl through their foes, weaving spells from their practiced movements.
Bonus Proficiencies
When you join the College of Grace at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with whips and your choice of Acrobatics or performance. If you’re proficient with a simple or martial melee weapon, you can use it as a spellcasting focus for your bard spells.
Acrobatics
You gain proficiency in the Acrobatics skill.
Performance
You gain proficiency in the Performance skill.
Enchanted Movements
At 3rd level, you are able to subtly weave spells into the moves of your dances. When you cast a spell that uses verbal components, you can expend a Bardic Inspiration Die to instead cause it require Somatic components instead. If it already required Somatic Components then the spell can be cast without its verbal components. If you are under the effect of the Battle Dance ability when you use the ability you may add your bardic inspiration dice to one damage or healing dice total rolled in casting the spell.
At level 14 this ability also gains the ability to replace Material components that do not have a gold value associated with them. This can be combined to perform spells using only Somatic Components.
Battle Dance
At 3rd level, you learn to weave attacks and dodges into a deadly dance to perform on the battle field..
You can use a bonus action to start the Battle Dance, which lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are incapacitated or restrained. You can also dismiss the Battle Dance at any time (no action required).
While your Battle Dance is active, you gain the following benefits:
- While you are not wearing any armor, your Armor Class equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Charisma modifier. You can use a shield and still gain this benefit.
- You have advantage on Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks.
- If you make a melee attack against a creature, that creature can’t make opportunity attacks against you for the rest of your turn.
- When an ally you can see expends one of your bardic inspiration dice, you may use your reaction to make a melee attack against an enemy within range.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.
Extra Attack
Starting at 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. Moreover, you can cast one of your cantrips in place of one of those attacks while under the effect of your Battle Dance.
Elegant Caster
Starting at 14th level, whenever you cast a spell using Enchanted Movements, you may also give the Bardic Inspiration dice used to another character as if granting them bardic inspiration normally. In addition, your Enchanted Movements can now also replace Material components that do not have a gold value associated with them. This can be used to perform spells using only Somatic Components.
