Base Class: Warlock
Your patron is a mysterious and powerful entity that watches over the world, a sentinel that ensures that the natural cycle between life and death remains untoched. They concern themselves to extend the life of those who deserve it, and that those who die when the time is right, pass from the world as expected.
They don't care about mere zombies or necromancy in general, since those things are mostly just tampering with the body of a creature; the problem comes when someone meddles with a creature's soul. They bid their agents to defeat those who seek to cheat death through undeath or other foul imitations of immortality, as well as to attempt to keep alive the innocents and those who would aid in this purpose.
Examples of this patron include the Raven Queen, celestials acting in the name of a grave domain deity, a mythical archdruid, or even a particularly powerful spirit who seeks to prevent others from falling to the same fate it once did.
Expanded Spell List
The Sentinel lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Keeper of the Tomb
Starting at 1st level, you learn the Spare the Dying cantrip. It counts as a warlock cantrip for you, but it doesn't count against your number of cantrips known.
Additionally, you gain the ability to occasionally sense the presence of undead, whose existence is an insult to the natural cycle of life. As an action, you can open your awareness to magically detect undead. Until the end of your next turn, you know the location of any undead within 60 feet of you that isn't behind total cover and that isn't protected from divination magic. This sense doesn't tell you anything about a creature's capabilities or identity.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you gain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Form of the Sentinel
At 1st level, you manifest an aspect of your patron’s mighty power. As a bonus action, you transform for 1 minute into a form that represents your patron in some way. For example, your form could be the masked visage of the Raven Queen herself, or you might grow spectral broken wings to represent the celestial origin of this pact. You gain the following benefits while transformed:
- Whenever you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, a creature of your choice within 60 feet of you gains temporary hit points equal to your warlock level + your Charisma modifier.
- Whenever you deal damage on your turn with a warlock spell or class feature, you may have that damage become radiant damage instead.
- You are immune to the frightened condition.
You can transform a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Path to a Peaceful Rest
When you reach 6th level, you can designate another creature’s life force for termination. As a reaction to a creature taking damage within 30 feet of you, you can grant that creature vulnerability to all of that attack's damage, as long as they aren't resistant or immune to any of it.
You can use this feature once, and gain the ability to do so again when you finish a short or long rest.
Aura of the Veil
Starting at 10th level level, your patron grants you a protective blessing that lets you control the boundary between life and death. You have advantage against death saving throws and resistance to necrotic damage, and as long as you are conscious, allies within 15 feet of you have advantage on death saving throws and resistance to necrotic damage as well.
Soul Transfer
At 14th level, you can seize a trace of vitality from a parting soul and use it to heal the living. When an enemy you can see dies within 30 feet of you, you or one ally of your choice that is within 30 feet of you regains hit points equal to the enemy’s number of Hit Dice. You can use this feature only if you aren't incapacitated, and once you use it, you can't do so again until the start of your next turn.
