Base Class: Fighter
A banneret is a knight who inspires greatness in others by committing brave deeds in battle. The mere presence of one in a hamlet is enough to cause some orcs and bandits to seek easier prey. A lone banneret is a skilled warrior, but a banneret leading a band of allies can transform even the most poorly equipped militia into a ferocious war band.
A banneret prefers to lead through deeds, not words. As a banneret spearheads an attack, their actions can awaken reserves of courage and conviction in allies that they never suspected they had.
Inspiring Emblem
Starting when you choose this subclass at 3rd level you create, or have been given, a banner for your allies to rally behind. This banner can be attached to your armor or to a weapon with both the “two-handed” and “reach” properties which you wield. All allied creatures within 10 feet of your banner gain advantage on saving throws made to resist/end the charmed or frightened conditions.
This banner’s aura increases to 30 feet at 18th level.
Rallying Warcry
Also at 3rd level, you begin to lead your allies to victory through strength of morale. As a bonus action you can cry out and choose a number of creatures equal to 1+ your proficiency bonus to give temporary hit points equal to twice your Charisma Modifier (minimum of 1) within 30 feet (as long as the creatures can hear you).
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all expended uses at the end of a long rest.
Spirited Charge
At 7th level, you always move swiftly to the frontlines when a battle begins. During your first turn of any combat, you can dash as a bonus action. You lose this benefit at the end of your first turn.
Valiant Emblem
At 10th level, your banner has been embellished and cleaned, shining to all those around you as a beacon of strength to your party. All creatures within 10 feet of your banner gain advantage on saving throws made to resist/end the grappled or restrained conditions.
Daunting Flourish
At 15th level, you can wave your flag as a sign of oncoming danger to your enemies. As an action, you can unfurl your banner and reveal it, forcing all enemy creatures within 60 feet who can see it to make a Wisdom Saving Throw (DC equal to 8 + proficiency bonus + charisma modifier) or have their movement speed reduced to 0 until the start of your next turn.
You can use this feature once, regaining use of this feature at the end of a long rest.
Eternal Emblem
Finally at 18th level, your banner has been remade with glorious embroidery and fine patternings; not only emboldening all who stand under it, but also revitalizing those who wish to continue to fight for its cause.
Your banner’s aura now expands to affect all allied creatures within 30 feet, granting one final benefit: When an allied creature within your banner’s aura is granted temporary hit points from your Rallying Warcry, they can also remove 1 point of exhaustion.
