Base Class: Blood Hunter (archived)
A team of doctors and spell casters were brought in to find a process to increase the blood hunters' prowess through means of medicine and magic. After a long discussion the team made plans on using the alien abilities of aberrations to enhance the blood hunters. They set to work bringing in new recruits in the attempt of combining the bodies of both the hunters and different aberrations. Through the methods of body grafting and blood transfusions recruits where reduced to violent twisted monstrosities that no longer resembled humanoids. These failed attempts often suffered agonizingly short lives or were so brain dead that the research team would put the creatures out of their misery. It wasn't until a Cloaker utilized in a transmutation ritual in where the Cloaker become bound by mistake to the recruit's shadow that the team realized they were onto something worthwhile. With this new viable specimen, the team found that the recruit with the bound Cloaker was physically unchanged, but they still benefited from the union. When physical harm was present they witnessed the recruit summon the aberrant shadow to leap forward and wreath themselves, giving them a barrier from some of the harm.
The team immediately went to work testing the capabilities of the recruit by placing them under dangerous conditions and while the shadow shrouded the recruit it became apparent that the shadow was able to move and interact with its environment. The results prompted the team to repeat the ritual on others and as more were formed new discovers were made. The Shadow could shift and camouflage, expand and catch wind for flight, while in the most extreme cases they could even manifest duplicates much like Cloakers could. Knowing that they could safely use Cloakers to replicate the process the team started to manipulate the cloakers before the ritual to draw out other benefits. This led to the refinement process in creating members of the future Order of the Cloaked.
Change log (2.0)
A new take on the old Order of the Lurker.
Added in snippet codes where needed.
Cloak and Dagger now gives Expertise in Stealth instead of gaining proficiency it if you didn't have it or advancing it if you did have it.
Combined Glider Cowl and Flight of the Manta into Flight Cowl with advancement described when reaching the new proper level of 11.
Added a new class feature at 15th level.
Cloak and Dagger
At 3rd level, The very nature of your shadow cloak allows you an easier time going unnoticed in the dark. You gain proficiency in stealth and your proficiency bonus is doubled for any stealth ability checks you make.
Rite of the Mantle
When you join at 3rd level, you learn the esoteric Rite of the Mantle (detailed below).
Rite of the Mantle- As a bonus action you imbue your cloak with necrotic energy and for 1 minute you can roll your crimson rite damage die once per round to reduce the damage of a single attack by the rolled result + your wisdom modifier(minimum of 1). This damage is taken off after all damage is calculated. You regain your hit point maximum you suffered from activating this crimson rite after the 1 minute is up, but you do not regain the lost health.
At 15th level, as a reaction you can bounce the damage reduced by your Rite of the Mantle from a single attack out at all targets within 5ft of you in the form of necrotic damage equal to the amount reduced + your Wisdom modifier(minimum of 1).
Flight Cowl
When you reach 7th level, your cloak can expand and you gain a limited Flying speed of 30ft. You can't ascend any higher by means of your flying movement and you descend 10ft by the end of your turn unless lifted by other forces.(Updraft, wind spells, etc.)
At 11th level, you gain a true flying speed of 30ft without restrictions.
Struggling Cape
At 7th level, your cloak struggles against your target that tries to restrain you. You have advantage on saves to avoid or break out of a grapple.
Evasion
At 11th level, your cloak surrounds you when you dodge out of the way of area effects, such as a dragon's breath or a lightning bolt spell. When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail.
Regeneration
When reaching 15th level, you regain 10 hit points at the start of your turn if you have at least 1 hit point but fewer hit points than half of your hit point maximum.
Dark Phantasms
Upon reaching 18th level, as an action you can tap into your cloaker's illusionary capabilities. You can magically create three illusory duplicates of yourself. The duplicates move with you and mimic your actions, shifting position so as to make it impossible to track which one is the real you. Whenever any creature targets you with an attack or a harmful spell while a duplicate remains, that creature rolls randomly to determine whether it targets you or one of the duplicates. A creature is unaffected by this magical effect if it can't see or if it relies on senses other than sight. A duplicate has your AC and uses your saving throws. If an attack hits a duplicate, or if a duplicate fails a saving throw against an effect that deals damage, the duplicate disappears.
You must finish a long rest before you can use this feature again.

Posted Feb 4, 2020*UPDATE COMING* I am in the process of updating all my Blood Hunter subclasses to conform with the 2.0 Blood hunter changes made by Matt Mercer this Jan 2020. The changes have made for interesting conflicts and challenges to update my content to match, but be reassured that I will always strive to make the subclasses work with any updated version that Matt Mercer implements with his Blood Hunter class. I know that the new changes will be hitting DNDBeyond soon and if my subclasses aren't updated right away, know that I have been working on them since day one. Thank you for your patience while I work on them and I hope that this delay doesn't cause any problems in game. I only want to elevate Matt's class and provide a fun experience for all DND players and DMs. As always once I release the updated subclasses feed back is always welcome and if you like the subclasses remember to give them an upvote, they help get the subclasses in front of others.

Posted Mar 21, 2019I have given all my subclasses another look over and hopefully made them better and easier to use with the character sheets. I also made revisions for any clarifications on the rules and rebalances of rule mechanics. If you like the updates and revisions please help out by up voting since every revision clears out my votes.
