Base Class: Monk
Those who follow the Way of the Heavenly King, practice under no system of morality, but instead, a system of discovery.
The legends of the Heavenly King tell the tale of a man who's curiosity lead him to a great revelation,
one that granted him power and knowledge over both the Heavens in his Fists and Hell in his Staff.
The Emperor's Tongue
At 3rd level when you choose this tradition, if you don't already, you learn to speak read and write Celestial and Infernal.
Fist of Yin / Staff of Yang
At 3rd level when you choose this tradition, when you attack with Flurry of Blows you may spend 1 Ki to instead attack twice with either Fist of Yin or Staff of Yang.
Fist of Yin.
- You make an Unarmed Attack and add 1d4 Necrotic damage.
- As you level up, you gain an additional 1d4 Necrotic damage at 6th(2d4), 11th(3d4) and 17th(4d4) level.
- When you hit a creature with this attack, they must make a Constitution saving throw. If they fail, they are poisoned.
At the end of their turn they may continue to make saving throws to end the effect.
Staff of Yang.
- You make an Attack with a polearm you are Proficient with and add 1d4 Radiant damage.
- As you level up, you gain an additional 1d4 Radiant damage at 6th(2d4), 11th(3d4) and 17th(4d4) level.
- When you hit a creature with this attack, they must make a Constitution saving throw. If they fail, they are paralyzed.
At the end of their turn they may continue to make saving throws to end the effect.
Duality Stance
At 6th level when you gain this feature, you may enter Duality Stance
While in Duality Stance, you may spend 1 Ki every time you take the Attack Action to make it with either Fist of Yin, or Staff of Yang.
You exit Duality stance when you run out of Ki Points or choose to do so manually.
Heavenly Arms
At 11th Level you may spend and hour to Attune to any non-magical polearm weapon.
- This weapon can be dismissed/summoned as a free action and is considered magical.
- This weapon is considered a monk weapon and as such uses your Martial Arts damage.
- When you make an Attack as an Action with this weapon, It gains an additional 1d6 Radiant or Necrotic damage.
This becomes 2d6 at 17th level.
The Heavenly King's Vestiges
At 17th level you may spend 10 Ki to empower your self for 1 minute.
While empowered Dexterity based Ability checks and Saving throws gain an additional +2 bonus. And attacks made with either your heavenly Arms or your Fists gain an additional +2 to attack.
While empowered, you also gain 3 new abilities:
- Ruyi Jingu Bang. When you make an Attack with your Heavenly Arms, you may spend 2 Ki to extent it's range up to 15ft. If you do, You may make an additional attack against two other creatures within 10ft of them.
- Distant Winds. When you hit a creature with Flurry of Blows you may spend Ki to create an additional effect:
- Billowing Strike. (3 Ki) They must make a Strength Saving throw against a DC of 15 plus your Dexterity Modifier, or be blown back up to 30ft. Should that creature be hit into anything, then they and anything they hit take 1d10 bludgeoning damage for every 5ft not traveled.
- Heaven, Earth and Hell. You attack with one of six 3-part combos:
(these can be in any order)- Heaven to Earth.
Heaven: Aoe, radius = weapon reach +5ft. Dex saving throw DC 15 plus Dex mod. Staff of Yang damage to failed.
Hell: failed from heaven, Con Save DC 15 plus Dex Mod. Fist of Yin damage, failed are marked and take damage, successful only take damage.
Earth: Staff of Yang or Fist of Yin to all previous targets, 4d10 bludgeoning damage to marked. - Heaven to Hell.
Heaven: Aoe, radius = weapon reach +5ft. Dex saving throw DC 15 plus Dex mod. Staff of Yang damage to failed.
Earth: failed make Str Save DC 15 plus Dex Mod, failed get pulled up to 10ft and take Staff of Yang or Fist of Yin, successful only take damage.
Hell: failed take Fist of Yin damage, 3d10 Necrotic damage and knocked prone. - Earth to Hell.
Earth: Attack with Staff of Yang or Fist of Yin. If hit: Con Save DC 15 plus Dex Mod, failed continue to Heaven.
Heaven: Staff of Yang damage, 10ft cone behind target, 2d8 radiant damage.
Hell: Fist of Yin damage, 50 + 2d10 Necrotic damage. Heal half damage dealt. - Earth to Heaven.
Earth: Attack with Staff of Yang or Fist of Yin. If hit: Con Save DC 15 plus Dex Mod, failed continue to Hell.
Hell: Fist of Yin damage, Con Save DC 15, failed become vulnerable to radiant damage.
Heaven: Staff of Yang damage, 50 + 2d10 radiant damage. Radius 5ft around target, 2d8 radiant damage. - Hell to Earth.
Hell: Attack with Fist of Yin, If hit: Con Save DC 15 plus Dex Mod, failed has disadvantage on saving throws in this combo.
Heaven: Staff of Yang damage, 15ft Line, up to three targets, Str Save DC 15 Dex Mod, hit up in to the air, failed 15ft, success 5ft.
Earth: Staff of Yang or Fist of Yin damage, bludgeoning damage 1d10 for every 5ft traveled from Heaven. becomes stunned for 2 turns. - Hell to Heaven.
Hell: Attack with Fist of Yin, If hit: Con Save DC 15 plus Dex Mod, failed has disadvantage on saving throws in this combo.
Earth: Staff of Yang or Fist of Yin damage,
Heaven: Staff of Yang damage, 1d10 radiant damage,
- Heaven to Earth.
