Monk
Base Class: Monk

Founded by Shadar-Kai stranded outside the Shadowfell with no way to return. The portal that brought them to the material plane, however, did not entirely vanish. It has sealed shut, but diluted energies still trickle through from the Shadowfell. The order has used this since its founding to fuel and maintain the powers of the monks.

Arts of the Lost

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can use your ki to duplicate the effects of certain spells. As an action, you can spend 2 ki points to cast darkness, darkvision, false life, or ray of enfeeblement, without providing material components. Additionally, you gain the vicious mockery cantrip if you don’t already know it.

Pass Through Shadows

At 6th level, you gain the ability to pass between shadows. When you are in dim light or darkness, as a bonus action you can cast the misty step spell to an unoccupied space you can see that is also in dim light or darkness. You then have advantage on the first melee attack you make before the end of the turn. This feature may be used once per short or long rest. At 10th level you may use this feature twice per short or long rest. At 16th level, you may use this feature thrice per short or long rest.

Embrace of the Shadows

By 11th level, you have learned to become one with the shadows. When you are in an area of dim light or darkness, you can use your action to become invisible. You remain invisible until you make an attack, cast a spell, or are in an area of average or bright light.

Shadow Form

At 17th level, as an action, you take on a spectral form composed of the Shadowfell's energies. You become invisible and your physical movements do not produce sound, though vocal noises such as speaking can still be heard. This feature is treated as a concentration spell but does not count as a spell. At 17th level, this feature may only be used once per long rest. At 20th level this feature may instead be used twice per long rest.
