Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards of the College of Art are typically adept in multiple facets of art. Whether painting a landscape, sculpting an elvish maiden, or writing poetry about the love of their life, they will produce masterful results that are the envy or artisans across the land.

These bards focus more on the beauty of things, and as such are often more in touch with nature than other bards. While they can be known to live in cities, the majority of bards of the College of Art will travel from one scenic location to the next, taking in the sights of the world.

The college’s members are often found outdoors painting landscape, in museums, or in workshops perfecting sculptures. They often have artistic competitions against one another, with the winner being decreed as the superior artist.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you join the College of Art at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Painter's and Calligrapher's Supplies.

Painted Sigils

Starting from 3rd level, you learn how to infuse your art with your bardic inspiration. During a short or long rest, you may create a piece of art (poem, small painting, etc.) that you imbue with one of your inspiration dice. As a bonus action, this piece of art may be used by an yourself or an ally within the next week to experience the benefit from your bardic inspiration. The piece of art is consumed upon use. You may have a number of Painted Sigils active equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1).

Living Sculpture

At 6th level, you gain the ability to create a life-sized sculpture of a medium or smaller sized beast or plant you have seen, at the cost of 300 gp and three days of work. The creature must have a challenge rating of 1/4 of your Bard level or less.

When the process is complete, your sculpture comes to life. It retains all attributes of the original creature, but its alignment changes to yours and it becomes completely loyal to you. Its type also becomes Construct. You may have multiple sculptures prepared, but may only have one living sculpture at a time. If your creature is destroyed, you may repair it for half the cost and one day of work, if you have gathered at least half of the materials from its remains.

Arcane Tattoos

Starting at 14th level, you may spend 8 hours inscribing a level 5 or lower spell you know onto your skin as a tattoo. You may have a number of spells inscribed this way equal to your Charisma modifier, and the tattoo must represent the spell in a reasonable manner.

As an action, you may touch the tattoo to cast the spell without expending a spell slot or the material components. However, it still requires the somatic and verbal components. Each tattoo may only be used in this way once per long rest.
