Bard
Base Class: Bard

As bardic colleges go, the College of Fools is one of the least cohesive, but its members are often some of the most famous and well-remembered. Instead of boring themselves with studying ancient lore or rehashing the same dismal tale of heroism over and over, bards of the College of Fools simply prefer to make as many friends as possible, wherever they go, and to share with them their humor and good spirits. They strive always to being laughter and light into the world. Two or more occasionally meet up to share jokes or hilarious pranks, but mostly they spend their time adventuring with their friends. A Fool cracks wise even during the heat of combat, inspired their friends with humor and optimism, and is always a reliable source of inspiration.

Joke’s on You

A Fool never misses an opportunity to to make a flamboyant display, even under attack. Why simply dodge a firebolt when you can pirouette out of harm’s way? At the very least, your comrades might get a chuckle.

At 3rd level, if you are forced to make a Dexterity saving throw during combat, you can make a Performance check instead.

The Best Medicine

Also at 3rd level, you learn how to infuse not just your inspiring songs with the magic of creation, but your very life essence as well. When you share your good humor and reassuring optimism, they share in that life essence as well. In addition to Attack Rolls, Ability Checks, and Saving Throws, your allies can now use Bardic Inspiration to grant themselves Temporary Hit Points.

Comedic Inspiration

What better way to get your allies in good spirits than by collectively and ruthlessly mocking your enemies?

At 6th level, when an enemy critically misses an attack against you, you regain one use of Bardic Inspiration, up to your maximum.

Wait for the Punchline

Even of a joke falls flat at first, you know how to get your audience laughing, it’s all in the timing.

When you reach 14th level, a creature that has a Bardic Inspiration die can roll that die twice and take the higher result.
