Base Class: Barbarian
Barbarians who walk the Path of the Vampiric draw their rage from their vampirism, a disease or disorder which makes them lust or hunger for blood.
Such a barbarian might be a doctor who attempted to cure a disease they had, but had unintended results. You can choose the origin of your vampire might or determine it by rolling on the Origin of the Bat table.
Origin of the Bat
| d4 | Origin |
|---|---|
| 1 | You were born with a dangerous Blood disorder, causing you to have this condition. |
| 2 | You tried to cure a weird disease you had, but the cure had unintended side effects. |
| 3 | Your body was experimented on, turning you into this superhuman vampire. |
| 4 | A Vampire Blood lust you mysteriously gained suddenly went into overdrive recently. |
Vampiric Rage
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, your body changes into that of a vampiric form while raging. While raging, you gain a fly speed equal to your walk speed and blind sight out to 30 feet.
Bat Control
Beginning at 6th level, you learn to control the rodents of the sky, bats. While you are raging, you can use your action to summon forth a 5 foot radius sphere of bats. This space is filled with a cacophony of wing flaps and chittering noises that can be heard up to 30 feet away. The effect is difficult terrain for all creatures other than you.
When a creature starts it's turn in the radius, it must succeed a Wisdom saving throw, (DC equals 8 + your Proficiency Bonus + your Charisma Modifier), or be unable to move. At the end of each of its turns, the target can make another Wisdom saving throw. On a success, the effect ends on the target, and they can move.
As a bonus action on each of your turns, you can move the center of the radius up to 10 feet in any direction of your choice. When doing so, all creatures currently stuck inside of the radius move along with it.
You can summon your bats a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once), before needing to take a long rest to summon them again.
Sonic Boom
At 10th level, you gain the ability to screech a sonic boom at your foes, sending them flying back. Once per short rest, you can create a sonic boom from your screams. As an action, one target that can hear you within 15 feet must succeed a Strength save, (DC equals 8 + your Proficiency Bonus + your Charisma Modifier), or be pushed back a set number of feet.
No matter how close or far they were from you, the target is pushed back enough feet to be exactly 30 feet away from you.
Blood Drain
At 14th level, your vampire body can drink blood to get healthier in combat. When you hit with an attack while in a rage, you can choose once per turn to drink the blood spilled from that attack. You regain a number of hit points equal to half the damage dealt.
You cannot use this ability on creatures which do not produce blood.
