Base Class: Monk
Monks who follow the Way of the Roiling Sky have studied the ways that Ki can shape the air and even conjure the power of the storm.
Swirling Wind Technique
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you learn to manipulate the very air around you.
You gain the ability to cast the gust cantrip as a bonus action.
In addition, if you use Step of the Wind, your jump distance is tripled rather than doubled.
Wrath of the Storm
At 6th level, you gain the ability to channel your ki into lightning released by your strikes. When you hit a target with an unarmed strike or a Monk weapon, you may spend 1 Ki point to deal lightning damage to the target equal to your Martial Arts die. Additionally, the target can take no reactions until the start of its next turn. You can use this feature only once on each of your turns.
Thunderous Leap
At 11th level, you gain the ability to channel your Ki into a layer of thunder energy that increases your speed to a nigh unobservable level. As an action, you can spend 4 Ki points to cast the 3rd level spell thunder step. You require no material components to cast this spell. You can transport only yourself and your belongings (up to your carrying capacity) via this ability. The thunder can be heard from up to 300 feet away.
You can spend additional Ki points to cast thunder step as a higher level spell. Each additional ki point you spend increases the spell’s level by 1. The maximum number of Ki points (4 plus any additional points) that you can spend on the spell equals half your monk level (round down).
Thunderbolt Barrage
At 17th level, your mastery of the storm’s fury reaches a new height. Your jump distance from Step of the Wind is now quadrupled rather than tripled.
If you take the Attack action following Step of the Wind, you may spend 3 Ki points to envelop your strikes with the power of the storm for one turn. Each hit will deal an additional 1d10 Lightning and 1d10 Thunder damage. The thunder can be heard from up to 300 feet away.
In addition, if either or both attacks hit, you may make an additional attack as part of that action. As well, you may employ Wrath of the Storm in conjunction with Thunderbolt Barrage.
