Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Third Eye unlock the mystical powers of their mind in order to tap into their psychic potential. The seekers of this Way wield their psionic willpower like a deadly hidden fist, ready to be unleashed on those who dare to challenge them in combat.

Psychism

At 3rd level, your mind opens to the world of psychic energy.

You learn the Mage Hand cantrip, as well as your choice of the Druidcraft, Prestidigitation or Thaumaturgy cantrips. You can cast each of these spells without requiring components, and Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Open the Third Eye

Also at 3rd level, your mastery of Ki allows you to manifest a third eye of psychic energy to further focus your abilities,

As a bonus action, you can expend 1 ki point to open your Third Eye. When you do so, choose a number of creature up to your proficiency bonus within 20 ft. of you. Each creature must succeed on an Intelligence saving throw against your Ki Save DC or take psychic damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die, and cannot use Reactions until the end of their next turn.

Your Third Eye remains open for 10 minutes - you determine its appearance (or choose form the suggestions in the following table), and it vanishes early if you fall Unconscious, die, or dismiss it as a bonus action on your turn. While your Third Eye is open, you gain the following benefits:

  • You have Darkvision out to 120 ft., and Blindsight out to 30 ft.
  • You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.
  • You can use your Third Eye to make Telepathic Unarmed Strikes. When you make an unarmed strike on your turn while your Third Eye is open, your reach for the attack is equal to twice your Unarmored Movement bonus, uses your Wisdom modifier for the attack and damage rolls, and deals psychic damage instead of bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.
