Base Class: Monk
You follow a monastic tradition that teaches you to harness ki for more magical pursuits. When you focus your ki, you can align yourself with the forces of creation and bend the Weave to your will, using it as an extension of your body. Perhaps you trained with an experienced mage, or in meditation found a connection with the arcane energies of the world. Whatever the case may be, you now have the ability to channel your ki into fantastic displays of the mystic arts.
Arcane Disciple
At 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Arcana skill if you do not already have it. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses this skill. Also, your unarmed strikes count as melee weapons worth 1sp for the purposes of spellcasting.
Spellcasting
When you choose this discipline at 3rd level, you can use your ki to replicate the effects of spells. See Spells Rules for the general rules of spellcasting and the Spells Listing for the sorcerer spell list. Your body serves as an arcane focus for the purposes of spellcasting.
Cantrips
You learn two cantrips of your choice from the sorcerer spell list. You learn an additional sorcerer cantrip of your choice at 10th level.
Spell Slots
The Arcanist Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your sorcerer spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell's level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.
For example, if you know the 1st-level spell shield and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast shield using either slot.
Spells Known of 1st Level and Higher
You know three 1st-level spells of your choice from the sorcerer spell list.
The Spells Known column of the Arcanist Spellcasting table shows when you learn more sorcerer spells of 1st level or higher. Each of these spells must be of a level that you can cast, as shown in the Maximum Spell Level column. For instance, when you reach 7th level in this class, you can learn one new spell of 1st or 2nd level.
Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of the sorcerer spells you know with another spell of your choice from the sorcerer spell list. The new spell must be of a level which you can cast.
Spellcasting Ability
Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for your sorcerer spells since you cast your spells by using your ki to manipulate the Weave. You use your Wisdom whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Wisdom modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a sorcerer spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.
Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier
Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Arcane Strikes
At 6th level, your monk weapons count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage. Your unarmed strikes and monk weapons also gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls, unless it is a magic weapon that already has a bonus to those rolls.
Additionally, when you use your action to cast a cantrip, you can make one weapon attack as a bonus action using an unarmed strike or monk weapon.
Mystical Warding
At 11th level, you can use your connection to the Weave to augment your defences. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to expend ki points to reduce that damage by 1 roll of your Martial Arts die per ki point spent to a maximum number of rolls equal to your proficiency bonus.
Spellfire
At 17th level, you can use your bonus action to wreathe yourself in harmless blue-white flames as you harness the pure energy of the Weave. For 1 minute, you emit bright light in a 15-foot radius and dim light for a further 15 feet. You also gain the following benefits:
- Flight: You gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed.
- Spell Absorption: When you take damage from a spell, you can use your reaction to either regain expended ki points equal to the spell's level or gain temporary hit points equal to the spell's level plus your Wisdom modifier.
- Arcane Redirection: When you take damage from a magical effect caused by another creature, you can use your reaction to gain resistance to that instance of damage and force the creature to make a Dexterity saving throw against your ki save DC. On a failure, you deal force damage to that creature equal to the amount of damage you take from the triggering effect, or half as much on a success.
Once you use this feature, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest.
