Base Class: Monk
Often in the background, a sweeper sees much and hears more. While performing their duties a sweeper has ample time to contemplate the great meanings of the universe, such as; where did that stain come from, when’s my next smoke break and how can I avoid as much interaction with people around me as humanly possible. It is through this quiet contemplation, and a solid 10 hours a day of training, that a sweeper masters the art of the broom, a much-overlooked weapon and generally handy item to have around.
Why’d ya go and punch me broom handle.
When you take on the way of the sweeper at level 3 you become proficient with the broom (Mele weapon D6 versatile D8). You gain an understanding of the world steeped in old wisdom. The wisdom of the many, the washerwoman and thatcher the cart-write and baker. Some say you don’t have to be strong if you can hit fast and the wise say you don’t need either if you have the right timing. When you attack with a monk weapon you can use your Wisdom modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity, for the attack and damage rolls.
Smoko
At 3rd level, a sweeper is generally considered to be constantly smoking it is said they can make a single cigarette last for a whole long rest. When a sweeper does stub out their cigarette it's often into the face of an enemy fighter. Once per combat (resets with initiative roll) as part of an attack action deal 1d4 fire damage and give the creature disadvantage on attacks for its next turn.
No one notices a sweeper.
At 6th level people don’t generally look twice at a sweeper, a fact which often allows access to some of the most secure places on the continent. It also makes life a hell of a lot easier than having to try and dash between shadows. You gain a +10 bonus to Dexterity (Stealth) checks when in a crowd or a building that would have staff.
Its like my ma used to say.
At 6th level you gain the ancient wisdom. For although your words may not carry weight with others, luckily these are not your words. You can use your Wisdom modifier instead of your Charisma modifier for persuasion checks. You may use this ability as many times as your proficiency bonus per long rest.
But I wasn’t actually standing there
At 11th level a good sweeper understands that It never pays to be in the way, to be in the way is to be failing in your duty. Some sweepers however are able to take this way too far. When reduced to 0 hit points spend 1 ki to be on 1 hitpoint instead you must also move 5 feet. This movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity.
Where does the broom end.
At 17th level a sweeper has become almost one with his broom. Their years of sweeping grants them extraordinary accuracy and speed. To look at a master sweeper is to weep at the dust in your eyes. If you miss with an attack roll on your turn, you can reroll it. You can use this feature only once on each of your turns.
