Base Class: Barbarian
Rage for most barbarians is anger and emotion, a tool to conquer with. For those who walk the Path of the Inferno, rage is both fury and blaze. Fire your strength, flame your skill. Ignite your power through the Inferno.
Ignited Rage
3rd-level Path of the Inferno feature
When you enter your rage, your body becomes enveloped in flames. Until the rage ends you gain the following benefits:
- When a creature moves within 15 feet of you for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, that creature must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or takes an amount of fire damage equal to your proficiency bonus, or half as much damage on a successful one. This effect requires a saving throw, the DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier.
- You gain immunity to fire damage.
- The damage from your Rage Damage bonus is now fire damage.
Blazing Passion
6th-level Path of the Inferno feature
The smallest flame is still a fire. You gain resistance to fire damage and don’t suffer the effects of extreme heat, as described in the Dungeon Master’s Guide. Your fiery passion also causes you to gain proficiency in Charisma saving throws. If you already have this proficiency, you instead gain proficiency in Intelligence or Wisdom saving throws (your choice).
Expansive Inferno
10th-level Path of the Inferno feature
Your fire burns brighter and hotter as you gain the ability to set ablaze the landscape before you. As an action, you create an area of fire on a solid surface you touch. You can make the area a sphere with a 15 foot diameter centered on your touch, or a rectangle up to 60 feet long, 10 feet high and 5 feet wide.
This flame is opaque and lasts for 1 minute, it ends early if you are knocked unconscious, unwillingly exit a rage, or drop to 0 hit points. When the flame ignites, each creature within its area must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 5d12 fire damage, or half as much damage on a successful save. A creature takes the same damage when it enters the area for the first time on a turn or ends its turn there. This damage increases when you reach 14th level, becoming 7d12. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Ashes to Arms
14th-level Path of the Inferno feature
Any spark can grow into a scorching scintillation. While raging, your flame takes on a new purpose. When a creature you can see within 30 feet of you takes fire damage, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage by half and you regain an amount of hit points equal the other half, to a maximum of half your barbarian level.
In addition, whenever you hit a creature with an attack that deals fire damage, you can add your Rage Damage bonus to the attack’s damage roll.
