Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Mirror Soul sorcerers are rare and peculiar occurrences. These mages are like mirrors for magic, allowing them to manipulate it in strange and unique ways; reflecting an enemy’s attacks, weaving it into complex illusions, or conjuring temporary, intangible reflections of themselves. As a Mirror Soul sorcerer, you may have accidentally stumbled into the Plane of Mirrors, leaving a changed individual; you may have had a chance encounter with a Fractine while exploring the Astral Sea; or perhaps you were the victim of a mishap with the Clone, Magic Jar or Simulacrum spells.

Your mystical connection to illusions and mirrors has no doubt caused you to develop odd behavioral quirks and strange physical traits. Roll on the Mirror Soul Quirks table below, or come up with some of your own!

D6 Mirror Soul Quirk
1 Your face looks unnervingly symmetrical.
2 You often find yourself copying other people's movements subconsciously while you’re distracted.
3 You prefer things that come in pairs, and hate to see a single unit of anything.
4 Your dominant hand, foot and eye tend to change randomly.
5 Wounds on your skin have the appearance of long cracks and fractures, akin to that of broken glass.
6 You often address people's reflections while speaking to them, instead of their actual selves.

Mirror Magic

At 1st level, you’ve learnt how to innately cast certain magical spells related to illusions and the Plane of Mirrors. You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Mirror Soul Spells table. Each spell counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.

Mirror Soul Spells

1st disguise self, shield of faith
3rd mirror image, blur
5th hypnotic pattern, protection from energy
7th greater invisibility, stoneskin
9th seeming, wall of force

Inner Reflections

Also at 1st level, you’ve learnt how to conjure illusory reflections of yourself. Whenever you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st-level or higher, you can choose to summon a reflection of yourself in an unoccupied space within 60 feet of you. A summoned reflection has the appearance of a near-perfect clone of you, though invulnerable, slightly translucent and clearly illusory. The maximum number of reflections you can have summoned at a time equals your proficiency bonus. While you have at least one reflection summoned, you gain the following features:

  • You can cast any of your sorcerer spells as if you were standing in a summoned reflection's space, using its senses.
  • As a bonus action, you can choose to shatter a summoned reflection. When you do so, you immediately regain 1 sorcery point.

A summoned reflection lasts for 1 minute, until you die, or until you shatter it.

Mirror Master

At 6th level, you’ve become an expert at utilizing the reflections you summon. You gain the following features:

Smoke and Mirrors. Whenever you take damage, you can use your reaction to teleport and switch places with one of your summoned reflections. After doing so, you take no damage and the reflection you switch places with shatters in the space you left.

You can use this feature once per short rest.

Shattering Glass. Whenever you shatter a reflection, each creature of your choice within 10 feet of the reflection must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 2d6 force damage.

The force damage dealt by a reflection shattering increases to 3d6 at 11th-level and 4d6 at 15th-level.

Wholeness of Soul

At 14th level, you can use your reflections to enhance your defenses. Whenever you fail a saving throw, you can choose to shatter one of your reflections to automatically succeed on the save.

Reflective Ward

At 18th level, your connection to the Plane of Mirrors allows you to reflect magic like a mirror reflects light. When you succeed on a saving throw against a spell or a spell attack misses you, you can use your reaction to reflect the spell towards a creature of your choice within the spell’s range. When a spell is reflected in this way, you act as if you casted the spell and use your spell save DC and spell attack modifier.

You can use this feature once per long rest, unless you spend 5 sorcery points to use it again.
