Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

To most, death is something to fear. Others seek to master it. There are those who seek to create undead minions, while some use it to nurture their own life force in order to extend their lifespan. Perhaps some near-death experience has shaped their power for better or worse. Regardless, through extensive research the Necrotic Soul is able to use their power to manipulate life and death in ways most would only describe as unnatural.

Unholy Magic (1st Level)

Your study of the arcane and the unholy allows you to learn spells from the cleric spell list. If you later choose the Transmute Spell Metamagic option, add necrotic to the list of damage types.

Death Hungers (1st Level)

As a bonus action, you can unleash a bolt of necrotic energy. Make a ranged spell attack against an enemy within 30 feet. On hit, the creature takes 1d4+1 necrotic damage, increasing to 2d4+1 at 6th level and 3d4+1 at 12th level. This ability is considered a 1st level spell. You may use it a number of times per long rest equal to your Charisma modifier.

Borne of the Gallows (6th Level)

As an action, you can absorb the dark energy produced by your soul, granting you temporary hit points equal to your sorcerer level. You may reuse this ability after a long rest.

If you have temporary hit points, when you damage an enemy with an attack or spell, you can spend them to deal additional necrotic damage equal to the number of points spent.

Death Thirsts (14th level)

Manipulating dark energies has tempered your soul, enabling you to steal the life force of your enemies. You ignore resistance to necrotic damage, and your Death Hungers now grants you temporary hit points equal to half the damage dealt.

In addition, as an action, you can spend 2 sorcery points to mark a targets soul as Condemned. On a failed Charisma saving throw the condemned creature has disadvantage on saving throws until the end of your next turn.

Soul Nemesis (18th Level)

Your understanding of soul manipulation has reached its peak. You may now use Death Hungers at will. If you have temporary hit points, you may use an action to pass some or all to another creature.

A Condemned enemy now loses resistance and immunity to necrotic damage, and if you use your Death Hungers against a Condemned creature you gain temporary hit points equal to the full value of the damage dealt.
