Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Forgemasters are trained in necromancy, and although they share a similar goal, necromancers and Forgemasters are not the same. A Forgemaster uses their tools to reforge a spirit and manifest it into their living creations. Those trained as Forgemasters are sought out to create fiends in the thousands to serve those who would seek to take control of their world. Though most Forgemasters are considered foul, some use their creations to serve their own goals, and in rarer cases, to do some good.

Forgemaster's Spell List

The Forgemaster lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Forgemaster Expanded Spells

Unrivalled

Beginning at 1st level, you become proficient with light and medium armour, and 3 melee martial weapons of your choice.

In addition, you gain proficiency in mason's tools. If you already have proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan's tools of your choice.

Master of the Forge

At 3rd level, you can take an hour-long ritual to create a magic item known as a Forge Tool. This takes the shape of a one-handed melee weapon such as a hammer, shortsword, etc.

If your Forge Tool is lost or destroyed, you can take another hour-long ritual to turn a similar weapon or mason’s tools into your Forge Tool. You are always considered proficient with your Forge Tool and can choose to use your Intelligence modifier for all rolls made with it.

Devil Forging

Starting at 6th level, you can use your Forge Tool to bind the spirit of a creature with Intelligence 4 or higher that you slay. Before you slay that creature, you can use your bonus action and a spell slot of any level to infuse your Forge Tool. While your Forge Tool is infused in this way, you can force the slain creature's spirit to manifest into a fiend that is no larger than Medium and that has a challenge rating of 1 or lower of your choice.

When the fiend manifests, you roll for initiative for it and it has its own turns. The fiend is friendly to you, will do what you say, and it has a bonus to its attack rolls based on your Charisma modifier. The fiend remains in your service until it's killed or you choose to dismiss it.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (a minimum of once), and you regain all uses of it when you finish a long rest. You can have as many fiends manifested equal to your proficiency bonus.

At Higher Levels. When you infuse your Forge Tool using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, you can manifest a fiend with a challenge rating equal to the level of the spell slot used.

Devil Speaker

At 10th level, you learn to speak, read, and write Primordial and Abyssal languages. In addition, you can now communicate and perceive through any of your manifested fiends through any distance.

If any of your fiends would kill a creature that isn't undead or a construct, you may sacrifice it and regain a spell slot of the same level or lower based on that fiend's challenge rating.

Promised to the Devil

Starting at 14th level, you have become one of the best in your craft and therefore - you have pledged yourself to the life of a Forgemaster. You can reach into the furthest parts of the Nine Hells to create the most powerful fiends.

When you infuse your Forge Tool, you can roll 2d12 and manifest a fiend with a challenge rating of that total dice roll or lower. You may use a spell slot of any level to reroll one of the dice. You may continue to reroll that dice as long as you use a spell slot higher than what was used prior. When using this feature, it follows the same rules as Devil Forging but the fiend's challenge rating does not count towards your Devil Forging.

When you manifest a fiend with this feature, you can’t use the feature again until you finish a long rest.
