Cleric
Base Class: Cleric

Whether due to a Wish come true, divine parentage, a ritual, or some other circumstance, as a demigod: "Your flesh becomes more than mortal and partakes of the divine vigor enjoyed by the gods themselves. Your companions are fast, strong, and smart, but you have the spark of godhood that sets you ever so slightly above all mortals.

Deities from every plane eventually learn your name, your nature, and your goals. Some might monitor your progress to observe whether you possess the mettle of a true demigod, and a few could throw roadblocks in your path. It is in your hands to impress the lords of creation, or disappoint them.

If you survive, overcome all challenges put before you, and reach the heights of ability achieved by few mortals, you are worthy to ascend to the ranks of the divine."

"One or more gods might ask that you serve them as a probationary exarch while you work toward your own divine goals. You don't gain any additional abilities for accepting such a position, however you do gain access to a divine connection that might possibly grant you information helpful for completing your quests. On the other hand, you could be required to perform tasks that delay your own goals, or even work at cross-purposes to your goals. No one said godhood would be easy, and acting as a free agent has its own problems as various astral beings take your measure."

And that is only the divine aspect of your trials as a fledgling demigod. The stress mortals do and would place on you becomes more apparent, and mythologies from various cultures are full of tales of those demigods who buckle under pressure and turn dark. For a time you may keep it a secret, or there might be some you confide in, but eventually there will be a time when your divine nature can no longer be hidden. It is up to you to be ready for that moment.

Bonus Proficiency

When you choose this domain at 1st level, you gain proficiency with heavy armor.

Spiritual Renewal

Also starting at 1st level, you have learned to regain some of your spiritual reserves by studying your holy book, or studying omens and phenomena associated with your deity in the world around you. Once per day when you finish a short rest, you can choose expended spell slots to recover. The spell slots can have a combined level that is equal to or less than half your cleric level (rounded down), and none of the slots can be 6th level or higher.

For example, if you’re a 4th-level cleric, you can recover up to two levels worth of spell slots. You can recover either a 2nd-level spell slot or two 1st-level spell slots.

Channel Divinity: Rapid Regeneration

Starting at 2nd level, you can tap into the torrent of divine health flowing through your veins and use your Channel Divinity to quickly regenerate your injuries.

As a bonus action, you can regain hit points at the start of your turn. For the next minute, at the start of your turn you regain proficiency+Wisdom modifier hit points.

Resurgence

It's not quite immortality, but rather a precursor to your later potential. Beginning at 6th level, when you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. You can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest.

Holy Fire

At 8th level, you gain the ability to infuse your weapon strikes with divine flames. Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can cause the attack to deal an extra 1d4 Radiant damage and 1d4 Fire to the target. When you reach 14th level, the extra damage increases to 1d8 radiant damage and 1d8 Fire damage. A creature cannot resist one damage type from this attack unless it resists or is immune to both.

Transcendant

Starting at 17th level, your command over the supernatural has become almost second nature to you, and your mastery gives you an awe-inspiring presence. Whenever you finish a short or long rest, you are considered to be under the effects of a Sanctuary spell. Additionally, you can ignore the verbal and somatic components of your cleric spells, as well as any material components that lack a cost and aren’t consumed by a spell.
