Awoken to the aural energy within, an Aura Guardian is a Fighter who augments their physical might with aura-infused strikes and barriers.
As an Aura Guardian, you might have honed your aural abilities through solo discipline, unlocked it under the tutelage of a master, or refined it at an academy dedicated to wielding the body's internal essence as both weapon and shield.
Unarmored Defense
Due to your active Aural Essence, you have become much more durable. While you are not wearing any armor, your Armor Class equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Strength modifier.
Aural Essence
3rd-level Aura Warrior feature
You harbor a wellspring of aural essence within yourself. This energy is represented by your Aural Essence dice, which are each a d6. You have a number of these dice equal to twice your proficiency bonus, and they fuel various aural abilities you have, which are detailed below.
Some of your powers expend the Aural Essence die they use, as specified in a power’s description, and you can’t use a power if it requires you to use a die when your dice are all expended. You regain all your expended Aural Essence dice when you finish a long rest. In addition, as a bonus action, you can regain one expended Aural Essence die, a number of times up to your proficiency bonus per short or long rest.
When you reach certain levels in this class, the size of your Aural Essence dice increases: at 5th level (d8), 11th level (d10), 17th level (d12), and 20th level (d20). The powers below use your Aural Essence dice.
Protective Body Cover. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to expend one Aural Essence die, roll the die, and reduce the damage taken by the number rolled plus your Strength modifier (minimum reduction of 1), as you create a momentary shield of aural force.
Aural Strike. You can propel your weapons with aural force. Once on each of your turns, immediately after you hit a target within 30 feet of you with an attack and deal damage to it with a weapon, you can expend one Aural Essence die, rolling it and dealing force damage to the target equal to the number rolled plus your Strength modifier.
Aural Empowerment. You can empower yourself to perform incredible feats of physical ability. As an action, you expend one Aural Essence die and add that roll to your next Ability Check that uses Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution. This ability carries over if you roll a Nat 20. You may use this ability a number of times up to your proficiency bonus, until you finish a short or long rest.
Aural Adept
7th-level Aura Warrior feature
You have mastered new ways to use your aural abilities, detailed below.
Aura-Powered Leap. As a bonus action, you can propel your body with your immense vitality. You may jump a distance, high or long, up to twice your walking speed until the end of the current turn. Once you take this bonus action, you can’t do so again until you finish a short or long rest, unless you expend a Aural Essence die to take it again.
Aural Impact. When you deal damage to a target with your Aural Strike, you can force the target to make a Strength saving throw against a DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier. If the save fails, you can knock the target prone or move it up to 10 feet in any direction horizontally.
Power Overwhelming
10th-level Aura Warrior feature
The aural essence flowing through you has bolstered your constitution. You have resistance to poison damage and have advantage on Constitution saving throws. Moreover, if you start your turn under a condition caused by these, you can expend a Aural Essence die and end one effect on yourself subjecting you to it.
Tyrant's Presence
15th-level Aura Warrior feature
You can intimidate others by releasing the force of your presence. As a bonus action, you can choose creatures that you can see within 60 feet of you, up to a number of creatures equal to your Strength modifier (minimum of one creature). Each creature takes 1d4 psychic damage and must make a Wisdom saving throw at the beginning of their turns. On a failed save they are frightened until the beginning of their next turn.
You may use this action an amount of times equal to your proficiency modifier, until you take a long rest.
Aural Master
18th-level Aura Warrior feature
Your ability to control your Aural Essence is matched by few. You can expend Aural Essence dice to increase your attacks per turn. You can expend 2 Aural Essence dice to gain 1 extra attack on your turn for 1 minute, with every 2 Aural Essence dice adding to your attacks.
Once you use this feature on a turn, you can’t do so again until you finish a full day has gone by.
