Base Class: Sorcerer
You're unnaturally fast, and your magic comes from the plane of Speed. You might trace your lineage back to a being already blessed from the powers of this plane, or maybe you fell into an accident with the plane itself. One way or another, you're guided by speed itself.
The power of an accelerated soul makes your mind and body work faster than average. Your very nature is faster than others, even the chains of fate that push you towards death. At your option, you can pick from or roll on the Accelerated Soul Quirks table to create a quirk for your character.
Accelerated Soul Quirks
d6 | Quirk |
---|---|
1 | You talk faster than normal, and others have trouble making sense of your words. |
2 | Your heartbeat is so fast it appears to not be beating, and your blood flow is a laminar flow. |
3 | You blink much more often than the average person. |
4 | You're always picking up static electricity, even in places which would be impossible to do so. |
5 | Because you think several times faster than the normal person, you sometimes think others are dumb for taking so long to get something. |
6 | Your body moves faster than others can process, even yourself sometimes. |
Faster Movement
Starting at 1st level, your movement speed increases by 10 feet.
Faster Awareness
Starting at 1st level, your movement is quick and fueled by reaction. You can add a bonus, equal to your Charisma modifier, when rolling for initiative.
Sorcerous Speed
At 6th level, you gain the ability to channel even more speed into yourself when needed. As a bonus action, you can expend sorcery points for more speed. For every sorcery point you spend, your movement increases by 5 feet. This speed lasts until 1 minute has passed, or until you become incapacitated. You can add more sorcery points, but any additional speed is still lost after 1 minute has passed since the first point was used.
Speed Steal
At 14th level, you gain the ability to steal the speed from your opponents in battle. As an action, you can touch one creature and steal their speed. That creature must make a Constitution saving throw contested by your spell save DC. On a failure, the creatures movement speed becomes zero, and you gain additional movement speed equal to the amount stolen. At the end of each of the creatures turns, it can attempt the saving throw again, on a success the effect ends.
If the target succeeds, it cannot be effected by this ability for 24 hours. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your Proficiency Modifier, before needing to take a long rest to use it again.
Accelerated Form
Starting at 18th level, you can spend 6 sorcery points as a bonus action to magically transform yourself into a beacon of the Accelerated Soul. In this form, you gain a number of benefits
- Your current movement speed doubles, and your Sorcerous Speed feature grants you 10 feet of additional movement per point used.
- You can run across any surface, vertically or horizontally, without any penalties to your movement speed
- You deal lightning damage equal to your Charisma Modifier to any creature, when you first get within 5 feet of them on your turn.
You remain in this form for 1 minute. It ends early if you are incapacitated, if you die, or if you dismiss it as a bonus action.
