Monk
Base Class: Monk

The brewmaster is a quirky character, though dangerous when underestimated. Brewmasters may seem to struggle with balance as they chug their concoctions in the middle of a fight, but this unpredictable behavior is far from foolhardiness. Most opponents barely have time to process the erratic nature of the brewmaster’s fighting tactics before they find themselves laid low. When an opponent actually manages to land an attack, it’s often unclear how much the brewmaster feels it . . . if at all.

Stagger

Starting at the 3rd level when you pick this tradition, you learn to easily shrug off attacks delaying the damage of the attacks. When you are hit, you can use your reaction to half the damage that you take on a melee weapon attack. You take the rest of the damage on your next turn. You may use this feature before or after the attack hits you, but before you take damage.

Gift of the Ox

Starting at the 6th level, the spirit of the ox has granted you a way to heal yourself in battle. When you take damage, you can spend one point of ki to summon a healing sphere visible only to you anywhere within a 15 foot radius centered around you. When you move through the sphere, you regain hit points equal to 2d4 + your Wisdom modifier. The sphere can only heal you, lasts for one heal, and is only summonable once per short or long rest.

Celestial Fortune

Starting at the 11th level when you confirm a critical hit, you gain temporary hit points equal to half the damage you dealt. If you already have temporary hit points, then you cannot use this effect.

Zen Meditation

Starting at the 17th level, you have learned how to reduce damage output to all physical damage. As an action for up to one minute, you may expend up to twelve ki points to meditate to increase your resistance to physical damage. Once you finish meditating, you gain resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from non-magical attacks. You gain this resistance for the amount of ki points you expended per hour. For example, if you expended 4 ki points, you gain this resistance for 4 hours.
