Base Class: Fighter
An Undying Warrior is a master of death, able to stretch their lifeforce past the extent of a normal mortal being. Often trained under powerful necromancers, Undying Warriors push themselves into dangerous exhaustion in order to fulfill their masters' wishes. However, if pushed too far, this unnatural ability can lead to a grisly death.
Resilient Spirit
At 3rd level, you harness dark energies to stretch your lifeforce past its limits. If you are reduced to 0 hit points, you can choose to enter a state of Undying. Once in this state, you can act on your next turn as normal. Each turn after that in which you remain in the Undying state, you gain a level of exhaustion, which is enacted upon leaving the state. If you are hit while in the Undying state, succeed on a constitution saving throw or take one death save failure, with a DC equal to 10 or half the damage you take, whichever number is higher. Upon reaching 3 death save fails or exhaustion level 6, your character dies.
You can leave the state of Undying at the beginning of your turn, returning to death saves as normal, including any death saves received as a result of being hit. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, rounded down.
Chill of Death
Starting at 7th level, the chill of death fuels your spirit. While in the Undying state, your attacks deal additional cold damage equal to your proficiency bonus.
Warrior's Willpower
At 10th level, your mastery of death grows. When entering the Undying state, you can now act on two turns before experiencing levels of exhaustion. Starting at 18th level, the number of turns before exhaustion increases to three.
Undying Form
Starting at 15th level, your mastery of death nears its peak. You gain advantage on death saving throws.
Master of Death
At 18th level, your mastery of death is complete. Upon reaching 6 levels of exhaustion, you can make a constitution saving throw, DC 15, and remain at 5 levels of exhaustion until another turn is taken in which you make the save again, or the Undying state is ended.
