Base Class: Bard

No one quite knows how bards of the Cooking College become such master chefs. They seem to always have the right ingredients for their recipes, even when traveling on long adventures. Some say it's wizardry, others say that they have made a pact with a demon of gluttony, some even say that they have access to a mysterious plane of existence filled with pantries full of always fresh ingredients. If you ask any cooking bard, they'll smile with a wink and a nod saying that it's all about the herbs and spices.  

Tools of the Trade

When you join the College of Cooking at 3rd level, you have mastered the ability to turn the art of cooking into a performance. You may use your Charisma (Performance) when creating food. As well as adding your proficiency bonus to any kind of check involving food.

You also become proficient with Cook's Utensils, and may use those utensils as a spell casting focus.

Sauce of Rest

Upon joining the Cooking College at 3rd level, your Song of Rest ability is modified into the Sauce of Rest ability. In addition to granting an additional hit die through your cooking performance, you also prepare a dish using a certain sauce which enhances you and your parties abilities in one way or another. Only one sauce may be active at a time. At 3rd level, you have access to three sauces. You gain an additional sauce at 6th level, and another at 14th level. 

 

Alfredo Sauce

This heavy stout sauce gives you and your companions a stout belly during combat. When using this sauce you and the companions you choose, gain advantage on Concentration checks for up to an hour. 

Barbecue Sauce

When using this smoky, spicy, and slightly sweet sauce you and your companions feel a strong compulsion to swing faster and hit harder. When using this sauce you and your companions gain a damage bonus equal to your Song of Rest die for the next hour. 

Caramel Sauce

This sweet sauce coats the mouths of your party, giving them a sweet meal, and an even sweeter tongue. While under the effects of this sauce, you and the party members you choose have advantage on their next Charisma check. Once used, the sweet coating leaves their mouth until you use this sauce again.

Chili Sauce

This spicy sauce keeps you and your companion's mouths in pain, helping to ignore the pain coming from other sources. When using this sauce, choose one type of damage, you and your companions who are short resting with you gain resistance to that damage type for 1 hour.

Cranberry Sauce

This tart and gelatinous sauce keeps you and your companions light on their feet and gives them a chance to rebound away from tough situations. When using this sauce, you and your companions gain the ability to use the Disengage action as a bonus action for the next hour. 

Duck Sauce

This sweet and sour sauce makes you and your companion's spirits soar! While using this sauce, you and your companions short resting with you have a flying speed equal to your current walking speed. This benefit works only in short bursts; you fall if you end your turn in the air and nothing else is holding you aloft.

Fudge Sauce

This warm, chocolatey sauce sticks and cools to you and your companions armor on consumption giving them a chocolate shell that keeps them from harm for a short time. After using your Sauce of Rest Ability, you and your companions gain +1 AC for the rest of the day. This effect increases to +2 at 5th level, and +3 at 17th level.

Lamb Sauce

This hearty sauce increases the durability of you and your companions for a short time. When using this sauce you and any creatures that take a short rest with you gain 2d6 temporary hit points adding your Charisma modifier for the next 8 hours. This increases with your Song of Rest dice, 2d8 at 9th level, 2d10 at 13th level, and 2d12 at 17th level. 

Steak Sauce

This sauce hides the otherwise wonderful flavor of a well made steak. This sauce allows you and your companions to hide in amongst even the brightest of places. Using this sauce allows you to cast pass without trace upon you and all of your companions without the need of concentration. This effect lasts for 1 hour.

Tomato Sauce

This versatile sauce can be used in a variety of ways, allowing your companions a variety of benefits. Choose an ability (STR, DEX, CON, INT, WIS, or CHA), you and the companions short resting with you gain advantage on those ability checks for 1 hour.

Advanced Techniques

Your skill as a chef has improved that you now have access to the more advanced techniques of the Chef's College. These mark you as a journey man in your field and give you abilities of cooking that no mere mortal chef would have access to. Being more advanced, these techniques require concentration to use and are subject to the same rules as any concentration spell. These these techniques scale with your Song of Rest dice (d8 at 9th level, d10 at 13th level, and d12 at 17th)

Aspic Technique: You have learned the careful art of encapsulating various foods in gelatin, sometimes even your enemies are subject to this fate.

You summon a Large cube of gelatin at a point you can see within 60ft. When this cube is summoned, any creatures that are occupying it's space must make a Dexterity saving throw with a DC equal to your Spell Save DC. On a failed save that creature is restrained by the cube and takes 3d6 acid damage. On a successful save, the creature is moved over to a random adjacent space not occupied by the cube. While restrained the creature must make a Strength saving throw with a DC equal to your spell save DC, or they will take 2d6 acid damage at the beginning of each of your turns. The cube occupies the space for a minute and then dissolves. 

Engastration Technique: In your time cooking wild birds, you have gotten creative with your craft and have learned how to stuff animals into other animals and cook it. Your enemies might not be quite as pleasant as a turducken, but it's just as effective. 

Target a creature that you can see within 60 ft. This creature must make a Strength saving throw equal to your spell save DC. On a failed save, they take 1d6 force damage from a random animal carcass being forced into their stomach. The target must continue making Strength saving throws at the beginning of each of their turns for the next minute or until concentration is broken. On each failed saving throw the creature will take an additional 1d6 added on to the previous damage dice (1d6 initial damage, then 2d6, 3d6, etc.). When the creature succeed on a save, it does not take any damage that round. Should the creature die while under this effect, they explode from the sheer quantity of food that has been stuffed into them. 

Smoking Technique: Your qualities as a master chef have given you the ability to smoke a large amount of meat in a short amount of time. Even your enemies will be choked up by the heavenly aromas.

Target a point you can see within 60ft. a cloud of smoke (radius: 10 ft.) This cloud fills the lungs of any creature inside of it, any creature caught in this cloud of smoke must make a Constitution saving throw or be blinded and take 2d6 fire damage. Any creatures within the smoke must make a Constitution saving throw at the beginning of their turns or be blinded and take 2d6 fire damage. This effect lasts for a minute.

 

Feast of Kings

Your skills of as a chef have improved to the point that you can create masterworks of food that strengthen and inspire your companions. Once per day, you can take 10 minutes to create a master meal for all of you companions that takes an hour to consume, this cures any of your companions of any diseases and poison effects, as well as grants advantage on all Wisdom saving throws. In addition to the effects of the spell, your companions partaking in the feast all gain one inspiration die that lasts for 24 hours as well. This inspiration die does not count against your normal inspiration cache for the day.

Boss of Sauce

Becoming a true master of the culinary arts, you now have access to all ten sauces per your Sauce of Rest ability.
