Base Class: Bard
Skalds, Fianna, Warrior-Poets. Wherever they come from, they have many names, and they all serve the same purpose. To fight, and to inspire their brothers and sisters-in-arms. Able to not only fight, but sing at the same time, speak prose, and increase morale in allies, and decrease morale in enemies.
Song of Steel and Spirit
As a both warrior and entertainer, you can aide your allies to survive longer.
When you take this subclass at level 3, you are able to cast the 'Blade Ward' cantrip as a bonus action and it loses the range of self, but gains a range of 30ft. You can do this a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier plus one, and regain all uses after a long rest.
At level 8, you are able to strengthen your voice, and target an additional creature with this feature.
Forged in War
When you take this subclass at 3rd level, you gain one additional use of Bardic Inspiration. In addition, whenever you use a bardic inspiration on an ally, they gain a number of temporary hit points equal to proficiency bonus plus your spellcasting modifier.
Herald of War
At 6th level, you are able to hold your own in melee combat. You gain a bonus of +1 bonus to AC. In addition, you can use your bonus action to extend this bonus to your allies who can hear you within 15ft of you. If you take damage while this effect is active, you must succeed a concentration check or the effect ends. You are able to use this ability a number of times equal to your CHA modifier, and restore all uses at the end of a long rest.
Song of Sinew and Slaughter
At 14th level, you may use a bonus action to spend a use of Bardic Inspiration to allow yourself or an ally to enter a battle-rage.
They gain the following:
- You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
- When you make a melee weapon attack using Strength, you gain a bonus to the damage roll that increases as you gain levels as a barbarian, as shown in the Rage Damage column of the Barbarian table.
- You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
If you are able to cast spells, you can’t cast them or concentrate on them while raging.
In addition, they gain a +3 bonus to melee attack damage. This effect lasts for 1 minute, and it ends early if you are knocked unconscious or if your turn ends and you haven’t attacked a hostile creature since your last turn or taken damage since then. You can also end your rage on your turn as a bonus action.
