Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

A disciple of the path of impurity seeks to incorporate the symbionts of the Daelkyr into his body, either to make himself a more perfect tool of the Daelkyr, or to use their mad inventions against them.

Aberrant Rage

3rd-level Path of Impurity feature

Your exposure to the aberrations of Khyber fuels your rage. When you enter your rage, you gain resistance to Psychic damage. In addition, your rage sends out a wave of psychic assault in an aura of 10 feet around you. When you enter a rage, and as any of your attacks during an attack action while you are in a rage, you may automatically deal psychic damage equal to your Proficiency modifier to all enemies within 10 feet.

Symbiotic Control

3rd-level Path of Impurity feature

You gain proficiency with Deep Speech, in order to communicate with the world of the Daelkyr. In addition, you may voluntarily end your attunement to magic items with the Symbiotic Nature ability and your attunement to these items can’t be magically stripped from you by spells that end a curse. Finally, you gain one extra attunement slot that can only be attuned to an item with the Symbiotic Nature ability. You gain a second bonus attunement slot at level 10.

Symbiotic Lure

3rd-level Path of Impurity feature

You understand where to go and how to attract symbiotes unto you. At level 3, you may attract any 1 Common magic item with the Symbiotic Nature ability to you for free. You do this by spending a long rest in the wild, near a location with access to Khyber.

In the future, you may spend resources to “craft” additional magic items with the Symbiotic Nature ability using the standard magic item crafting rules, but in place of using tools or a workbench, you expend money to burn special incenses or offerings to attract symbiotes from Khyber. At level 3, you may “craft” common magic items with the Symbiotic Nature feature in this way.

At level 6, you may release your free Symbiote back into Khyber and exchange it with an Uncommon magic item with the Symbiotic Nature ability. You may also “craft” Uncommon items with the Symbiotic Nature ability.

At level 10, you may release your Symbiote back into Khyber and exchange it with a Rare magic item with the Symbiotic Nature ability. You may also “craft” Rare items with the Symbiotic Nature ability.

At level 14, you may release your free Symbiote back into Khyber and exchange it with a Very Rare magic item with the Symbiotic Nature ability. You may also “craft” Very Rare items with the Symbiotic Nature ability.

Symbiotic Surgery

6th-level Path of Impurity feature

When you have an item with the Symbiotic Nature ability equipped, you can use an action to touch an unconscious or bloodied creature and force them to use a number of hit dice up to your proficiency bonus. They instantly heal that many hit points.

In addition, if you have any attunement slots available, you can use an action to touch a creature who has an item with the Symbiotic Nature ability equipped. That creature instantly loses attunement to one equipped symbiote, and you gain that symbiote. You still must attune it to gain access to its abilities.

Aberrant Awareness

10th-level Path of Impurity feature

You gain telepathy to a range of 60 feet. You can communicate with any creature that has a language. When you are raging and you use your special Aberrant Rage psychic attack, you may target one creature within 60 feet to also take the psychic damage, in addition to any creatures within 10 feet. In addition, you gain training in Insight and can add double your proficiency bonus to Insight checks.

Symbiotic Unity

Symbiotes give and they take away. Sometimes, you find yourself losing your own self within the alien minds of the symbiotes you have taken into your body. Whenever you take a long or short rest, you may lose proficiency in a number of skills, languages, or tools equal to the number of items with Symbiotic Nature ability you are attuned to and gain proficiency to the same number of different skills, languages, or tools. You may only swap skills with skills, languages with languages, or tools with tools.

In addition, your mental connection to your symbiotes also connects you to your allies. When you are raging, you may use your reaction when an ally within 10 feet is hit with an attack that deals piercing, bludgeoning, slashing, or psychic damage. You take the damage instead, and your resistance apply. You may then make your special Aberrant Rage attack for free.
