Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

While many death knights focus on raising hordes of the undead or hurling flames from the nine hells or smiting foes with unholy retributive damage.  The Undying Bulwark takes on a different form.  The fear that is instilled in a foe as just standing before this creature begins to regenerate as your life force leaches away.  The knowledge that the longer the fight goes on the less chance you have of winning.  The Undying Bulwark unlike many classes is meant to simply outlast the enemy, and turn every fight into a constant battle of attrition.  As bodies litter the ground, the Death Knight can simply refill his lost life essence from what is left of the fallen draining their soul from their still form.  This instills dread in the death knights' victims that is as if impending undeniable doom is standing before them and all they may do is submit to its presence.  The undying bulwark is a truly terrifying foe and is monstrous in the heat of combat against many foes.

Unholy Wrath

When you take this unholy rite at 3rd level, you gain the following two Unholy Wrath options.

Your Soul is Mine on Which to Feast. As an action, you can drain the soul energy of nearby creatures that have recently fallen (within 1 minute). Heal for 1d4 per creature (to a maximum of that creature's maximum hit dice) for every level of Death Knight you have taken.

Suffer the Cost of Your Transgressions. You can use your Unholy Wrath to rebuke those who use violence.  Immediately after an attacker within 30 feet of you deals damage with an attack against a creature other than you, you can use your reaction to force the attacker to make a Wisdom saving throw.  On a failed save, the attacker takes necrotic damage equal to the damage it just dealt.  On a successful save, it takes half as much damage.
