Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Gods of luck tend to be a bit more on the chaotic side, but also tend towards good. Paladins of Luck are rare, but they do exist, representing the best side of luck for all the world to see.

An Oath of the Lucky is a promise to share good fortune, and multiply the blessings luck casts upon the lucky. Paladins swearing the Oath of the Lucky desire no more material possessions than they need to live, casting fortune to the wind, spending and gifting frivolously, with a constant pay-it-forward attitude. The Paladin of Luck sees every blessing given as one likely to return many times over, and perpetually multiplying good will and good fortune. Gambling is a way to pass the time and, if luck is on your side, obtain goods and wealth to share freely and generously after winning.

Of course, combat is the ultimate game of chance, where a speck of dirt in the eye, a broken bootlace or a mis-timed swing could spell the difference between victory and defeat, and the wager is often the thing most dear to anyone - life itself. The Paladin of Luck can be reckless at times in combat, and yet, fortune smiles more frequently for it. The paladin is like a vortex of good fortune, and enemies will likely find their best-laid plans coming to naught as the world bends to favor the lucky.

Channel Divinity

Channel Divinity offers two options:

Reckless Abandon

Much like the Barbarian's Reckless Attack ability, the Paladin of the Lucky swings blindly with all his might, or fires wildly on a whim, and yet seems to land more strikes because of it. You have advantage on attack rolls and ability checks for one minute. But luck bends both ways, and your enemies have advantage on attacks against you for a minute also.

Unnatural Optimism

Sometimes luck accomplishes the seemingly impossible - a blade skims across the skin without cutting, an arrow falls to pieces in midair and cannot pierce, the flame licks but does not burn. Somehow, these things happen more often to those who swear an Oath of the Lucky, right when they need it to happen. You have immunity to one type of damage of your choice for a number of rounds equal to your proficiency modifier. While this ability is in effect, as a reaction, you may change the type of damage you are immune to

Aura of Good Luck

At 7th level, the Paladin of Luck is like a walking good luck charm. Just what people most need to happen, happens around those who swear the Oath of the Lucky. You and creatures of your choice within 10 feet can re-roll one die of their choice on their turn. Alternately, if the ability went unused on their turn, creatures can force a re-roll of another creature's action against them.

At 18th level this aura expands out to 30 feet.

Lucky Deflection

At 15th level, luck itself tries to aid you and your allies, guiding your actions, fortifying your defenses and shielding from physical harm, batting aside blows and deflecting deadly. As a reaction you can cast the Shield at will, or the Resistance or Guidance cantrips.

Embodiment of Luck

At 20th level, you have the power to walk as a living avatar of luck itself, as the universe bends itself in your favor. Once per long rest as an action, you gain the benefits of the Foresight and the Invulnerability spells for one minute, granting you advantage on all attack rolls, ability checks, skill checks and saving throws, as well as total immunity to all damage types.
