Rooted Lotus

A Fathomless Patron found in the depths of the Liminal Cavern, which houses many semi-sentient flora and fauna that drag unsuspecting individuals to the depths and drown them as sacrifices for their patron. The individuals that survive these attempts are granted the right to form a pact with the Rooted Lotus. Despite the innocuous name of this fathomless patron, the Rooted Lotus is a being made up of numerous semi-sentient flora that converge into one mind and are neither malevolent nor benevolent, they care only for their own expansion. They originate from a water plane outside of our own realm and have made their way to our plane of existence in search of more room to grow as they have encapsulated the whole of their home plane with their roots. Their gifted spells and blessings revolve around mastery of the water element and its associated abilities such as acid and ice.

Invigorating Aqua

At the 6th level, you gain a greater ability to breathe underwater, extending the time limit to an hour, and the ability to rest and heal slowly in bodies of water

If healing in the body of water whilst in prayer to the Rooted Lotus the speed of healing increases.

The size of the body of water affects the strength of the healing, larger bodies of water grant more health, and smaller bodies of water grant less comparatively.

• a puddle = 2 pts health
• a pond = 4 pts health
• a lake = 8 pts health
• an ocean = 10 pts health

Drowned Prayer

Starting at the 10th level, you can regain 2 spell slots and/or choose a damage resistance after an hour of prayer to the Rooted Lotus. You must choose between obtaining the damage resistance or spell slots beforehand as only one blessing will be granted per prayer session.

• The type of damage resistance chosen can only be acid, cold, or poison
• Damage from magical weapons or silver weapons ignores this resistance

Infection

At the 14th level, the Rooted Lotus deems you worthy enough to bestow upon you limited control over its roots, allowing you to exert limited mind control over lesser intelligent beings, such as animals.

This control only lasts for a short amount of time (5-10 minutes depending on their wisdom modifier).

A saving throw of intelligence above 10 will break the control immediately, but a saving throw can only be performed right after the spell is cast.
