Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

The Raven Queen was once mortal. Through her own power she gained immortality and became a Goddess, though the churches of the major deities (and the deities themselves) refuse to accept her as an official member of the pantheon. The Raven Queen serves as a constant reminder of our own mortality. Because worship is rare, the Raven Queen tends to be more interested in the lives of her worshippers and more active in the world of man. She will occasionally appear in person to guide souls to the afterlife. Those who accept death, pass through the light of her lantern into the afterlife. Those who are afraid of death are chased and torn apart by her hunting dogs.

The Queen's Servent

You have accepted your role as the Raven Queen's servant. As a bonus action, you can transform into a were-raven hybrid for 1 minute.

You gain the following benefits while transformed:

  • You gain temporary hitpoints equal to 1d10 + your warlock level.
  • Fly 50ft.
  • Immune to Frightened condition.
  • Can speak normally.
  • Can cast any known spells without Somatic or Material components that lack gold cost.
  • As a bonus action, can use beak attack ( uses chr modifier for hits, 1d4+ chr mod dmg )
    • On a successful hit, the target must make a wisdom save, if the saving throw fails, the target is frightened of you until the end of your next turn.

You can transform a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

note: as you are not truly a were-raven, your beak attack cannot pass on lycanthropy.

Crossing the Veil

At 6th level, as your link to the Raven Queen grows stronger, her powers begin to permanently change your body.

Your skin pales and your body thins. While you begin to look sickly, you are in perfect health.

You no longer need to eat, drink, or breathe.

Once per turn, when you cause damage to a creature, you can replace that damage type with necrotic damage.

While in The Queen's Servant form, add an additional 1d4 necrotic damage to all damage rolls. (Damage increased at 11th Level to 2d4 and 17th level to 3d4)

Across the Veil

At 10th level, your link to the Raven Queen is almost complete. Her power courses through you.

You now have resistance to Necrotic Damage. When you become The Queen's Servant, you are immune to Necrotic Damage.

In addition, when you would be reduced to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to drop to 1 hit point instead.

Doing so summons a flock of ravens that circle your body, protecting you. The ravens form a wall circling your body giving full cover and a + 5 to AC (acts like Shield Spell).

Friendly players may reach through the wall without damage (i.e. to touch you for healing).

As an Action, the player may send a raven to attack a nearby (within 60ft) creature.

Enemies making melee attacks through the wall are attacked by the ravens and receive damage.

Hostile creatures moving out of melee range of the wall trigger an opportunity attack by the ravens.

Raven does 1d4 damage and the player is healed for the same amount.

The wall of ravens lasts for a number of rounds equal to your proficiency bonus or until you move or dispel it.

The player cannot take any action affecting anything outside of the wall. (other than using the ravens to attack)

Using this ability causes you to gain 1 level of exhaustion. You cannot do this again until you finish a long rest.

The Queen's Champion

At 14th level Your soul is now completely given to the Raven Queen. The link between you is strong. You are no longer just a servant, but her Champion. Some aspects of The Queen's Servant are now permanent.

  • As a bonus action you can summon raven's wing to extend from your back. These allow you to fly 50ft.
    • The wings stay until another bonus action is used to dismiss them or you hit 0 hit points.
  • You are immune to Frightened condition.

The Raven Queen's Champion form replaces The Queen's Servant form.

  • This form lasts for up to 1 hour, or you are reduced to 0 hit points.
    • If you reach 0 hit points, you automatically trigger the effects of Across the Veil ( drop to 1 instead, wall of ravens, etc ) but do not suffer from 1 level of exhaustion.
  • Your wings are summoned, allowing you to fly.
  • Your eyes glow a pale blue and you gain the ability Truesight.
  • Anytime you cause necrotic damage, you regain hit points equal to half of the damage.
  • As a bonus action, you can cast Darkness without using a spell slot.

You can transform a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
