Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks who follow the Way of Still Waters work to bring harmony under the guidance of Eldath, the goddess of tranquility, healing, and of sacred waters and groves. They act as diplomats, sages, mediators, and healers in areas of the world where the evils of violence and destruction have caused great upheaval. Quite simply, where waters get choppy, these monks spring up to still it.

In their monasteries, often found far away from civilization in unspoiled wilderness, where they use sacred pools to scry upon the world, deciding when it is necessary to intervene. They train in techniques to master the element of water, and unlock their psionic abilities through deep meditation.

In combat, they tend to take a defensive stance. When necessary, however, they can unleash a deluge of powerful water based attacks to pacify interlopers through force.

Monks of this tradition often carry with them a container of water from the sacred pools of their monasteries.

Orbs of Harmony

As part of your training, you've developed aptitude with a unique psionic weapon known as Harmony Orbs. These take the form of small or tiny orbs made of stone, metal, or crystal, and can be gilded or carved as you wish. While in motion, they emit peaceful chiming. You start with 3 of these orbs, but when you gain a level in monk, you create another one, up to 10. If lost or destroyed, you can resummon the orbs as an action.

The orbs can be telekinetically manipulated through serene, flowing motion for the sake of display.

You can use your action to Awaken any dormant Harmony Orbs, allowing you to make attacks with them, but requiring concentration akin to casting a spell. Losing concentration causes all orbs to go dormant. While AwakenedHarmony Orbs shimmer or faintly glow in a way reminiscent of the surface of water.

Attacks with the Orbs have a range of 30ft, you add your proficiency bonus and wisdom modifier to the attack roll, and if they hit deal force damage equal to a roll of your martial arts die plus your wisdom modifier. You can also use the orbs to attempt to shove. Regardless of whether the attack is successful or not, the Orbs used as part of it go dormant.

You can expend Ki Points up to the number of Orbs you have Awakened to make additional attacks with them on your turn.

Flow as Water

When you Awaken your harmony orbs, you can assume and maintain one of the following Fluid Forms as a bonus action, lasting until your Harmony Orbs go dormant.

Pond Skater - You gain the benefits of having taken the dash action.
Slipstream -You gain the benefits of having taken the disengage action.
Ebb and Flow - You gain the benefits of having taken the dodge action.

Aurora Veil

When another creature heals you or grants you temporary hit points, you can use your reaction to become enshrouded by Aurora Veil. While shrouded in this way, you experience restful comfort even in the midst of battle. You add a d4 to any saving throws you make, and subtract a d4 from any attack rolls made against you, lasting until you intentionally deal damage or impose a saving throw, or until you become incapacitated. While the Veil lasts, you can also use your action to expend 1 monk hit dice, as if taking a short rest.

Tranquilize

When you touch a creature, you can expend 3 Ki Points to cast calm emotions on it.

Overflowing Stillness

When all of your Harmony Orbs are Awakened, you can enter the ultimate Fluid Form as part of the action. While in this form, you cannot take the attack action, and your tranquility spills out into a rippling aura with a radius of 30ft. Any creatures you choose within the aura gain the following benefits.

  • Gain advantage on saving throws against or to end the charmed and frightened conditions.
  • Gain advantage on intelligence, wisdom and charisma saving throws.
  • Gain resistance to psychic damage.
  • Can expend 1 of their hit dice at the beginning of each of their turns to recover hit points, as if taking a short rest.

Every round that you maintain this aura, you must expend one of your Awakened Harmony OrbsIdentically to the utilization of the weapon, the effect will end if you lose concentration, or deplete all of your Harmony Orbs.

Once this effect ends, you must complete a long rest before initiating it again.
