Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Weave sorcerers are either sorcerers who've devoted considerable effort to understanding and manipulating fhe underlying mechanisms of their magic, or trained wizards who've decided to study the natural laws their magic operates on in place of building a wide breadth of lore

Studied

If you encounter a spell scroll or wizard's spellbook that contains a ritual spell, you may learn that spell at the cost of 100 gold and 4 hours per spell level. You may only cast ritual spells as rituals. These count as sorcerer spells for you, do not count against total spells learned, and cannot be exchanged for different spells at any time.

You gain the following spells at appropriate levels. They count as sorcerer spells for you, do not count against total spells learned, and cannot be exchanged for different spells at any time:

Identify, Detect Magic

Detect Thoughts, Augury

Bestow Curse, Remove Curse

Fabricate, Divination

Scrying, Legend Lore

Varied Origin

If this is this character's first class, you may choose to substitute your saving throw proficiencies, skills, and casting ability attribute for the wizard's. Otherwise, you may change your casting ability attribute to intelligence. If you do, change all reference to charisma in metamagic descriptions to intelligence.

Precise Formula

At level six:

You may declare you're casting a delayed spell. Pay the spell's time cost, and either an action or bonus action. You may not use quickened spell for a spell cast this way.

During your next turn, you may cast the spell as a free action. If you do, the total metamagic cost is decreased by one. You may only cast a spell this way outside combat once per long rest, or short rest starting at level fourteen

Until you cast the delayed spell, if you suffer damage, you are forced to make a concentration save, if you aren't making one already. If you fail this concentration save or the standard one, you lose the free action and cannot cast the spell.

If you are incapacitated you lose the free action and cannot cast the spell

You may spend a bonus action to delay the spell being cast until your next turn, or may abort casting the spell as a free action.

Jamais Vu

At level fourteen:

Your magic has an uncanny quality of unfamiliarity to it. Your spells cast with metamagic count as one level higher when interacting with spells that are not your own, and spells that disrupt your magic can never gain advantage or additional dice.

You may apply multiple metamagic effects to a spell

Whenever your spells interact with another spell, surreal but harmless effects are created unless you supress this effect with a reaction or bonus action. The effects are more pronounced the higher the spell slot of the spell was, and the more metamagic was spent on the spell.

Precarious World

At level eighteen:

As a free action, the total metamagic cost of effects applied to a spell cast this turn through precise formula decreases by one, to a minimum of one. You can use this free action only if you haven't moved during this turn, and after you use the free action, your speed is 0 until the end of the current turn. In addition, do one of the following:

- increase your AC by 1 until the beginning of your next turn

- increase one of your saving throws you make before your next turn by 2

- perform a sorcerer cantrip that you know and that doesn't do damage and isn't blade ward as a free action once this turn
