Monk
Base Class: Monk

Many adventurers of the world learn to fight for war, to seek revenge, or to simply beat their enemies. Your training has taught you to never choose violence, but to defend yourself and others. Monks of these monasteries have never truly been involved with combat of any kind, but this does not mean that they are weak. Using their enemies' own movement against them, these monks can react faster than the others to deal damage or aid their allies.

Patient Fury

Your training has quickened your reflexes. At 3rd level, you can spend a ki point to perform another reaction during the round. Your training has taught you to react as opposed to acting against your enemy. You have gained the following abilities:

  • When you are attacked with a melee or ranged attack, as a reaction you can spend a ki point to perform the Dodge action.
  • After finishing your action, you may spend a ki point to use your reaction to Disengage.
  • If you did not move or were not moved by magical or physical means during your turn, you may use your reaction to make an unarmed melee attack towards a creature that attacks you. The number of unarmed melee attacks performed increases by 1 at 6th, and again on 9th, 12th, 15th, and 20th level.

Aided Deflection

At 6th level you have experienced enough battle to help defend your allies in battle. When an ally within 5ft of you is attacked, you can spend a ki point to help the ally, allowing them to perform the Dodge action.By spending a ki point as a reaction, an ally within 5ft of you performs the Dodge action when attacked.

Deflect Melee Attack

Starting at 11th level, when attacked by a melee attack, you can spend a ki point to use your reaction to deflect a melee attack. When you do so, roll 1d10 + your Dexterity modifier + your monk level. If the result is higher than the amount of damage dealt, you may spend a ki point to redirect the damage to the opponent, pushing them to a 5 ft square adjacent to you.

Patience is Key

At level 17, as a reaction to another creature ending their turn, you may spend 5 ki points to move, perform an action, and perform a bonus action.
