Bard
Base Class: Bard

The College of Sympathy is home to bards who's only form of expression are forms of music and emotive performances. They may have learned their craft from experiencing wonderful events or even feeling things foreign to them, many attribute their prowess to having mastered upmost control of their emotions.

The bards of this college seem somewhat apathetic and in such are regarded as outsiders. When they preform though, they help others understand how and what they feel brandishing their music not only as a tool for expression but also a tool of empathy. These performances can last from hours to even months or years, enthralling the listener to a state of complete understanding. Many a bard have used this gift to swindle people ranging from a common vendor to a king of a powerful hold. This magic can manifest in many forms, but a majority of bards merely use it as a tool of expression.

Reciprocal Feelings

Starting at 3rd levels you have such. a deep grasp of shared feelings that you can make those attacking you feel the pain you feel.

When you take damage or are forced to make a saving throw you can force the person targeting you to share the same fate. When you are damaged by a non-spell effect or hit by an attack you can immediately use your reaction to make the target that damaged you take the same damage as if they were a target of the original damage.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining uses on a long rest. When you reach 14th level in this class this ability recharges on short or long rests.

Shared Suffering

At 6th level, your capability to reflect damage also now can impact spells and other magical effects. When you are targeted by a spell you can choose to use your Reciprocal Feelings feature to force your opponent to have to deal with the spell. Each time you expend a use of your Reciprocal Feelings feature to reflect a spell the caster must succeed a Charisma saving throw equal to your spell save DC, on a failure they are also subjected to effects of the spell for the length of time that you are under the effects of the spell.

True Pain

Additionally at 6th level, each time you use your Reciprocal Feelings feature to damage an opponent you can choose to change the damage type to psychic damage so that the pain truly cuts to the core.

True understanding

When you reach 14th level, your empathy stretches so deeply that even you can make your starkest enemies be overwhelmed by a feeling of understanding.

In addition, as an action you can target a creature to make them completely understand your point of view for a minute or until they are incapacitated. When you target a creature they must make a Charisma saving throw or become a reflection of your feelings and hopes. As a reflection they take 4d4 psychic damage and are forced to take the same action you take each round in combat, taking the dodge action if they do not have the capability to take the same action. A creature immune to the charm condition has advantage on this saving throw. You can use this feature once, but you can choose to spend a 5th level spell slot to regain the use of this ability.

Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a short or long rest.
