Monk
Base Class: Monk

These monks tattoo spells into their bodies for different effects.  This runic magic although powerful, the canvas for holding these tattoos is limited, and once a rune is chosen it takes a great amount of time and skill to replace, thus so only a greater restoration or a spell of higher level can undo any one runic tattoo for another to be etched into one's skin.  The monks only gain spells up to 5th level and gain their 5th level spells at ninth level.  A runic monk's body can hold any 6 spells above first level and 2 cantrips.  The 6 spells are split into 4 melee or touch spells and 2 buff/debuff spells.

Runic Novice

Starting at third level, 1 melee cantrip is tattooed to either your fist or feet.  On a successful melee attack, you can use 1 ki point per turn to use runic cantrip. And your body is open to use any spell from the spell list of 2nd level or lower.   These spells still take an action to cast and cost 2 ki points per cast.

Runic Adept

At 6th level, you can now use your runic cantrips on two melee attacks.

Runic Practioner

At 11th level you can choose a second melee cantrip to be tattooed on a fist or foot but the strain of mastering this magic causes each use of your runic magic to cost 2 ki points for each use.   You have become enough of a practitioner to cast a spell of 1st level or higher in the same turn as your runic magic using a bonus action at the cost of not using your bonus action the following turn.

Runic Master

At 17th level you have become a master at casting your runic magic and are able to cast it on any melee attack you make.  And you can cast one of your buff/debuff spells for free once per short rest.

Runic Magic

Runic monks know up to 6 spells of 1st to 5th level and up to two cantrips.
