Base Class: Monk

This class is intended to suit specifically a path of the light following Kalashtar's fight to destroy the Quori. 

Sword Saint

At 3 level the Wandering Blade gains proficiency with one martial weapon (often a sword) that lacks the heavy and special properties. This weapon is considered a Monk’s weapon and is imbued with the Wandering’s Blade essence, making it a focus for their Ki.

Hunter’s Eye

The Wandering Blade is trained in the hunting and destruction of Aberrations (primarily the Quori of the Dreaming Dark), this means their training gives Advantage on wisdom (survival) checks to track, and insight and intelligence checks to detect and recall knowledge in relation to Aberrations.

They also receive Advantage on CHA saves.

Specialized Training

At 3rd Level the Wandering Blade gain Proficiency in Perception or Investigation and they also gain Proficiency in one of the other following skills:

  • Survival
  • Acrobatics
  • Athletics
  • Arcana

Deflecting Blade

Once per turn, as a reaction, the Wandering Blade can deflect a melee attack made at them with their weapon, reducing the damage by 1d10 + Wis + Monk Level. They can use this ability as many times as equal to their proficiency bonus and resets after a Short Rest.

Insightful Warrior

The Wandering Blade uses Wisdom for the main stat for all attack and damage rolls with monk weapons and unarmed strikes, replacing Str and Dex.

Blade of Il-Yannah

The weapon of the Wandering Blade is considered magical for purposes of overcoming resistances and immunity to non-magical damage.

Ward of Il-Yannah

The Wandering Blade can cast the shield spell upon themselves as many times equal to their proficiency bonus. This ability resets after a long rest. Wisdom is the spellcasting ability for this spell.

Il-Yannah’s Grace

When a creature they can see within 10 feet of them is hit by an attack roll,  The Wandering Blade can use their reaction to spend 1 Ki point to cast shield upon the creature.

Clear Mind, Clear Sight

The Wandering Blade gains Darkvision as a racial ability allowing them to see up to 60 feet in dim light as if it were normal light and 60 feet into darkness as if it were low light.

The Wandering Blade may expend 1 Ki point to be able to see through Magical Darkness for 10 minutes

Il-Yannah’s Wrath

By expending 3 Ki Points, the Wandering Blade infuses their melee weapon with Radiant Energy. All attacks made with the weapon have Advantage and the damage type is changed to Radiant. In addition, the Wandering Blade adds the Monks Martial Arts damage dice to the weapons damage.
This effect lasts for 1 minute.

Restoring the Light

As a reaction, the Wandering Blade spends 5 Ki to do one of the following actions:

  • Grant a reroll to Cha Saves upon themselves or another within sight
  • Remove the effects of Possession upon as many creatures equal to Proficiency Bonus.
  • Remove the Effects of Mind Seed upon as many creatures equal to Proficiency Bonus
