Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks who study the Way of the Guarded Fist have honed their defensive capabilities and believe that the greatest strength lies not in offense, but in defense. These monks have learned how to best capitalize off of an enemies missed attack.

Dodging Counter

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you have learned how to capitalize on an enemy's missed attack. Whenever an opponent misses you with a melee attack, you may take an Opportunity Attack. Additionally, you can expend a ki point to perform an additional Counter Strike.

The number of Counter Strikes you can perform increases to 2 attacks at 6th level, 3 attacks at 11th level, and 4 attacks at 17th level, with each attack requiring one ki point each.

Prepared Defenses

Beginning at 6th level, you have learned to prepare your defenses no matter the situation. You can take the Dodge action as a bonus action without expending a ki point.

Surprising Counter

At 11th level, you have learned how to catch opponents off guard with your counter-attacks. You have advantage on all attacks made against a creature that you hit with a Counter Strike between this and your last turn.

Counter Stance

By 17th level, you have learned how to better dodge attacks. If you don't move on your turn, you may add +5 to your AC. This bonus lasts until your next turn.
