Artificer
Base Class: Artificer

Artificers who branch into the culinary arts are masters at cooking up lively servings of food seasoned with magical effects. Spicy curry could make you blast fire, while a sugary dessert could speed you up!

Tool Proficency

When you adopt this specialization at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Cook's Utensils. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan's tools of your choice.

Chef Spells

Starting at 3rd level, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Chef Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don't count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

  • 3rd Burning Hands, Create Or Destroy Water
  • 5th Heat Metal, Locate Animals Or Plants
  • 9th Wall Of Water, Plant Growth
  • 13th Watery Sphere, Control Water
  • 17th Flame Strike, Immolation

Food Infusion

Beginning at 3rd level, you can infuse any food you spend at least 10 minutes preparing with a single magical effect listed below. You can infuse food in this way once whenever you finish a long rest.

A number of creatures equal to your proficiency bonus can ingest some of the food and gain the magical effect until the end of your next long rest.

When you reach certain levels in this class, the effects of your food become more potent. Double every number on the effects below at 6th level, and triple them at 15th.

Fluffy. You can hover at a speed of 5 feet.

Hearty. You can regain 2 additional hit points whenever you receive magical healing.

Home-style. You can gain 1 temporary hit point at the end of each of your turns that you don't deal damage on.

Spicy. You can deal 1 additional fire damage with a weapon or spell attack once on each of your turns.

Sweet. Your speed increases by 5 feet.

Cooking Flame

At 5th level, your spells have been re-tuned with cooking in mind, providing the following effects:

  • Whenever a creature drops to 0 hit points as a result of any fire damage you deal with spells or artificer class features, you can evenly cook and season their entire body instantly.
  • After casting a spell that deals fire damage or any spell that creates water, you can deal 1d6 + your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1) fire damage to a single creature damaged by the spell or in contact with any water it created.

Meal To Go

Starting at 9th level, the delicacies you serve up during breaks empower you and your allies.

The first time a creature tastes any food you've prepared during a short rest, they can add an additional 2d4 to their next attack roll or ability check made before their next short or long rest.

Master Chef

By 15th level, you can conjure a grand feast with just a few words and the flick of a wrist.

You can cast the Heroes' Feast spell instantaneously without expending a spell slot, without preparing the spell, and without material components, provided you use Cook's Utensils as the spellcasting focus.

Once you cast the spell with this feature, you can't cast it again until you finish a long rest.
