The Hunt Beckons

Starting at 3rd level, whenever you enter in Rage, Bestial Spirit is summoned as if per means of Summon Beast to aid you in an unoccupied space of your choice within 30 feet of you. It uses the Bestial Spirit stat block.

  • The environment of the Bestial Spirit and its appearance is chosen when entering in Rage
  • Bestial Spirit starts as a 2nd level summon. The spiritual connection to nature of the barbarian strengthens as he levels up, increasing the level at which Bestial Spirit is summoned: 4th level at 6th barbarian level,  7th level 10th barbarian level and 9th level at 14th barbarian level.
  • Each time the Bestial Spirit gains levels, its size doubles in all dimensions until its Large, and also it gains the benefits of the Ability Score Improvement class feature. It can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or it can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, it can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature unless its description specifies otherwise.
  • It uses its Strength modifier for attack rolls, and level for damage bonus.
  • In combat, the spirit shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. It can move and use its reaction on its own, but the only action it takes on its turn is the Dodge action, unless you take a bonus action on your turn to command it to take another action. That action can be one in its stat block or some other action.
  • The spirit remains until it is reduced to 0 hit points or until your rage ends, at which point the spirit vanishes.

The summoning can occur a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus.

Relentless Bloodthirst

Starting at 6th level, each time you kill an enemy while raging, you can move up to half your speed towards a hostile creature you can see and make a single melee attack. If you kill an enemy with that attack you can keep doing this until you don't get a kill.

Nature's Aid

Beginning at 10th level, you Bestial Spirit emanates an aura of 30 feet which, depending of the chosen environment, gives:

  • Air: Extra 10 feet of movement, and allied movement in the aura doesn't provoke opportunity attacks from enemies.
  • Land: Allies inside the aura have advantage on attack rolls enemies who are within 5 feet of at least another ally that isn't incapacitated.
  • Water: Allies inside the aura get swimming speed equal to their movement speed and underwater breathing.

Unyielding Body

Beginning at 14th level, If you fall to 0 hit points while raging, the spirits of nature protect you, imbuing your body with temporal vitality, keeping you alive until the end of your turn in the next round, falling unconscious afterwards. If your Bestial Spirit is alive, it possesses your body, granting you half (rounded down) of all his positive ability modifiers. You start to make death saving throws only after falling unconscious.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest. You can't summon your Bestial Spirit again until you finish a short rest.
