Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Your patron imbues you with their unnatural hunger. You have been blessed with the powers of the death tenders. Those that guide and pull souls into the afterlife both willingly and unwillingly. Guided by the death keepers you now can manipulate the souls around you and inscribe magic to your very soul. Be wary as these powers were not meant for the frail bodies of mortals.

Pact of the Ink

Your patron gifts you with the ability to scribe spells to your very soul in the form of tattoos.  During a short rest you may scribe one of your known spells onto your skin. You may use a simple quill, dagger, or your finger to draw. These etchings glow with a sickly green light. You may cast this spell without consuming a spell slot as an action. Once a spell has been cast this way your tattoo fades away and is consumed. You cannot cast another spell in the same round that you use this ability. You may only scribe yourself with one tattoo at a time and only once per long rest.

Hallucinatory Magic

Beginning at 1st level, when you cast a spell that targets only one creature, you can choose to cast the spell subtly into the mind of your target, causing the casting of the spell and it's effects to only be visible to the target. If the spell deals damage, it deals an additional 1d4 psychic damage. You can do this a number of times per long rest equal to your charisma modifier.

Soul Shackle

At 6th level, as a reaction, you can use an eldritch tether to chain the soul of a recently killed creature within 5 ft. to yourself. This creature must have an Intelligence of 3 or higher and have been killed within the last 10 minutes. You are able to store a number of souls equal to your warlock level.

The souls stored within you prevent you from sleeping properly and fully benefiting from a long rest. A long rest no longer prevents any exhaustion level reduction. Additionally, you must take a DC 10 Constitution saving throw to avoid increasing your exhaustion level by 1. This saving throw's DC increases by 1 for each day that the Warlock makes the save.

You may choose to devour a number of your souls collected to gain any number of benefits.

Devour 1 soul as a bonus action to drain vigor from the soul and regain 1d8 hit points.

Devour 2 souls to cast a known cantrip as a bonus action.

Devour 3 souls as a free action to reduce your exhaustion level by 1.

Devour 6 souls as a free action to regain a spell slot.

Devour 10 souls as a bonus action to regain the use of an arcanum.

Devouring Cascade

At 10th level, your connection to your patron grows even stronger, and you are flooded with a great souleaters profane power. You can cast the following spells as an action by gaining a level of exhaustion.

  • Dimension Door
  • Mass Cure Wounds
  • Sending

Sacrifice Soul

At 14th level, once per short rest as an action, you may choose a creature that you can see within 90ft of you to make a Wisdom saving throw against your spellcasting DC. If your target is already charmed or frightened by you, they have disadvantage on the saving throw. This ability requires concentration as if you were concentrating on a spell. On a failure, they become paralyzed and can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of their turns. If the creature remains paralyzed at the end of their third turn, your patron consumes their soul, killing them instantly. The creature can be restored to life only by means of a wish spell.
