Monks of the Way of the Ki Burst beat the Ki out of their enemies and use it against them. Using their unarmed strikes Way of the Ki Burst Monks are able to feel the Ki within their enemies and extract it with precision.

Ki Bursts

3rd-level Way of the Ki Burst Feature

Your powerful unarmed strikes beat the Ki out of your enemies. After dealing damage with 3 unarmed attacks against any creatures choose one of the following Ki Burst effects:

Ki Explosion. Deal extra force damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die + your Wisdom modifier.

Ki Fortification. Gain temporary hit points equal to a roll of your Martial Arts die + your Wisdom modifier.

Ki Orbs

3rd-level Way of the Ki Burst Feature

When you would get a Ki Burst effect you can instead choose to convert it into a Ki Orb. You can have a number of Ki Orbs equal to half of your proficiency modifier (rounded down) + your Wisdom modifier. As a bonus action on your turn, you can spend 1 Ki point to create 1 Ki Orb or you can spend 1 Ki Orb to create 1 Ki point.

When used, Ki Orbs activate a Ki Burst effect of your choice on their targets. As a reaction when a creature hits with an attack or is hit with an attack within 30ft of you, you can use 1 Ki Orb on that creature.

Ki Burst Form

6th-level Way of the Ki Burst Feature

As a bonus action, you can channel all of your Ki Orbs gaining a bonus for each channeled orb. For each Ki Orb you channel choose one of the following benefits:

• Gain 5ft of flying speed and reach with your unarmed strikes.
• Gain resistance to a damage type of your choice and temporary hit points equal to half of your proficiency modifier rounded up.

These bonuses last for 1 minute or until you use this feature again. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Ki Burst Champion

11th-level Way of the Ki Burst Feature

The bonuses from your Ki Burst Form feature now last for a number of minutes equal to half of your Monk level rounded down. If you have less than your maximum possible Ki Orbs you can use the Ki Burst Form feature as if you did.

Ki Burst Avatar

17th-level Way of the Ki Burst Feature

When you use your Ki Burst Form feature each Ki Orb channeled grants both benefits instead of choosing one.
