Base Class: Wizard
The moon to the sun, the night to the day, winter to summer - so is the Librarian to the Scribe. While a Scribe may demonstrate great ability in creating spellbooks, the Librarian stands vigil over those already made, cataloging them, safeguarding them from damage - and always knowing the right book to win the day. Though a Scribe develops deep, intimate knowledge of a single book, their own personal spellbook and magnum opus, the Librarian opts instead for a fantastic breadth of knowledge, treating their own spellbook as something of a glorified notebook and directory for reference to other tomes. Reputed to be somewhat tougher and more forceful than might be expected from your average wizard, Librarians have to put up with a lot - and, with practice, become very, very good at it.
Command Silence
2nd-level Librarian feature
As a bonus action, you can compel silence from a creature that can see, hear, and understand you. The creature makes a Wisdom save against your spell save DC - if they fail, they are silenced for one minute. At the beginning of each of their subsequent turns, the silenced creature can repeat the save, ending the effect on a success. At 6th, 10th, and 14th level, the number of creatures you can compel with this increases by one.
Improvised Weapons
2nd-level Librarian feature
In a library, it is important to think on your feet and make quick use of surprising tools to solve problems. You gain proficiency with improvised weapons.
Shield of Knowledge
6th-level Librarian feature
When you are not wearing armor, your armor class is equal to 10 plus your Intelligence modifier and your Dexterity modifier.
Quick Memory
10th-level Librarian feature
For a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, you can cast a spell that you have not prepared. The spell must be one that you have in your spellbook, and maintains its usual casting time and required components. When you complete a long rest, the charges for this ability are reset.
Perfect Archivist
14th-level Librarian feature
You have advantage on all Intelligence (Arcana) and Intelligence (History) checks, drawing from remembered details of countless books that have passed before you. In addition, you can read any written language, and friendly creatures within 10 feet, bolstered by your knowledge, gain a bonus to their Armor Class equal to your Intelligence modifier.
