Base Class: Sorcerer
You aren't alive anymore, but you can't move onto your soul's destination. A strong emotion, a huge objective, unmovable motivation or other connection to the Material Plane keeps you here. Finding yourself with this new unlife can be difficult, and only the fulfillment of reaching your goal or breaking the connection to this world can set you free from eternal existence.
But not all is bad with this new form. It gives you access to new abilities and mastering it can be a great tool to fulfill your goal.
Spectral Nature
You don't require to breath, drink, eat or sleep to survive and you don't age.
Unsettling Magic
A slight sensation of sadness, loneliness, and unfulfilled yearning emanates from you. Strange sounds, like quiet whispers might be heard, or unnatural silences create an unsettling atmosphere. A cold atmosphere surrounds you at all times and sources of light and warmth dim down a small amount.
You have very little or no control over these manifestations; they simply occur.
With time and higher level you might learn how to control those effects, to stop them, or to make them stronger.

Phantasmal Form
1st-level Spectral Being feature
You gain the ability to hover with a flying speed equal to 30 feet. You also gain resistance to cold damage and vulnability to radiant damage.
Reaching 3rd level in this class, you learn the invisibility spell; this spell doesn’t count against your number of sorcerer spells known. You can use 2 sorcery points to cast it or your regular spell slots. Should you cast it with sorcery points, you don't need to concentrate on it for its duration.
Soul Harvest
1st-level Spectral Being feature
You don't get sorcery points with a long rest, instead you gain the ability to capture souls and create ghosts to support you and your allies. If a creature, that isn't undead or a construct dies in 50 feet of you or a creature you possess, you can use your reaction to capture the dying creature's soul and convert it into a sorcery point. You can't exceed your sorcery point maximum.
You can use this feature 2 + Proficiency Bonus times and the ability resets on a long rest.
Possession
6th-level Spectral Being feature
You gain the ability to lend a creature you can see your sorcery points. If you do so, the points still count towards your sorcery point maximum, but you can't use them aslong they are lend. The creature must be willing or fail a Wisdom saving throw against a DC of your Charisma Modifier + 1 for each point spent. On a save, it's immune for 30 days.
Creatures with resistance to charm effects have advantage on saving throws and with immunity, they are immune to this ability.
You can also decide if the charm effect of the possession should take effect.
Each point lent adds to the creature 2 maximum hit points, their attacks do additional cold damage half the points lent (rounded up, minimum of 1) and they can add quarter the points lent (rounded up, minimum of 1) to savings throws, ability checks and attack rolls.
The creature you empower is under the following effects for the points you lent:
- 4 Points or more lent, the creature is under the same effect as the friends spell. You can communicate with the creature telepathically. The possession can be broken with a Turn Undead effect or greater.
- 8 Points or more lent, the creature is under the same charmed effect as the charm person spell. You can communicate with the creature, telepathically, see and hear through it. The possession can be broken with a remove curse spell or greater.
- 12 Points or more lent, the creature is under the same charmed effect as the dominate person spell. You can communicate with the creature telepathically, see, hear and talk through it. The possession can be broken with a dispel evil and good spell, greater restoration spell or greater.
- If you lent the creature 16 Points or more, its totally under your mental control, you can communicate with it telepathically, see, hear, talk and cast spells through it. The possession can be broken with a heal spell or greater.
- If you lent the creature 20 Points, its totally under your mental control, you can communicate with it telepathically, see, hear, talk, cast spells through it and control it's movement and abilities. The possession can only be broken with a wish spell. Not even hitting 0 hit points breaks the possession.
You regain the lent sorcery points if the possession ends, by you using a bonus action to take back all points, if the creature hits 0 hit points or the possession is broken, by an effect or spell.
If the possessed creature is on another plane of existance as you, the connection is broken. The creature is still possessed and reconnects with you, as soon it's on the same plane of existence as you again. Should the possession be broken while the creature is on another plane, all the lent sorcery get lost and the souls set free.
Etherealness
14th-level Spectral Being feature
You gain the ability to see into the Ethereal Plane for 60 ft and as bonus action to switch between the Material Plane and the Ethereal Border Plane. You can still be seen from the Material Plane while in the Ethereal Border Plane. While you are in the Ethereal Plane you can't affect the Material Plane or be effected by it. While in the Ethereal Plane, you can move through objects and creatures as if they were difficult terrain. You take 1d10 force damage if you end your turn inside an object.
Inner Touch
18th-level Spectral Being feature
You can spend sorcery points and a bonus action to target a creature and infuse them with souls. The damage of the next attack that hits gets converted into cold damage, plus 1d8 for each point spent, that can't be reduced and passes through immunities.
If the creature receiving the damage doesn't posses a soul, this ability has no effect on them.
