Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

I used the Berserker Redux by Mojiquee as a starting point.  Retained the idea behind Chaotic Frenzy but looked to balance this against exhaustion changes it earned a new name in the process.  Added 2 ways to manage exhaustion, modification to Frenzy to give a passive exhaustion reduction and added Boundless Vigor to provide an active choice for Exhaustion recover. This should help to maintain the impact that exhaustion can have while making the Path of the Berserker more desirable.

Primary Changes

  1. Frenzy Gains ability to reset Exhaustion on a critical hit kill.  This may need to be balance by adding a number of uses tied to a short or long rest.  Still Testing
  2. Added Boundless Vigor.  This is a scaling ability to allow the player to actively manage Exhaustion.  Amount of uses are tied to Rage damage increases.
  3. Frenzy for the Ages, giving a barbarian 3 attacks with the earlier exhaustion management changes maybe unbalanced.  Tied this to Strengh score per short rest.

Frenzy

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can go into a frenzy when you rage. If you do so, for the duration of your rage you can make a single melee weapon attack as a bonus action on each of your turns after this one. When your rage ends, you suffer one level of exhaustion.

If you kill a creature with a critical melee attack while raging you do not suffer the level of exhaustion.

Boundless Vigor

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you have boundless vigor and are able to shrug off the effect of Exhaustion.  You can use your action to decrease your level of Exhaustion by 1 level.  You are able to use this ability once per long rest.

As you level your boundless vigor increases to 2 times per long rest at 9th level and 3 times at 16th level.

Mindless Rage

Beginning at 6th level, you can’t be charmed or frightened while raging. If you are charmed or frightened when you enter your rage, the effect is suspended for the duration of the rage.

Frenzy for the Ages

Beginning at 10th level, while you Frenzy, you can attack three times, instead of twice, when you take the Attack action. You can use this feature equal to you Strength modifier per short rest.

Retaliation

Starting at 14th level, when you take damage from a creature that is within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against that creature.
